Overall Experience: As a whole, I've loved all my experiences at the Rock. There is a sense of unity throughout campus, and everyone is nice. Walking to class and seeing at least one person you know really helps you feel welcome. Also, one of my best experiences was having the opportunity to travel and perform with the marching band at the University of Michigan for a game against Mercyhurst college. The school really cares about its students, and you can see it through all the programs and activities on campus.

Overall Experience: Absolutely love slippery rock. Feel right at home.

Overall Experience: My experience at Slippery Rock has been great so far. The people are welcoming, and nice. The school is not too far from home. If I could do it all over, I would pick Slippery Rock again.

Overall Experience: Slippery Rock university is very friendly and you fell at home.

Overall Experience: I love SRU! It's big enough to meet someone new every day, but small enough to see familiar faces wherever you go.

Overall Experience: While attending Slippery Rock University, I learned more things about myself. It allowed me to discover my inner intelligences I was not yet aware of prior to attending the university. I am more determined than ever as well & strive for excellence. I also enjoy communicating often with my professors during the school year for advice on academics/extracurriculars, as well as discussing ways to improve my performance in the courses. I had to overcome many barriers while being a student at this school. The hardest one is unfortunately to afford going back on my fifth year as an undergraduate student. I only have one more year left to complete two Bachelor's of Science degrees & it would be such an amazing feeling to reach that goal. I am glad I chose to come to Slippery Rock University. If I could do it all over, I wouldn't do anything differently, I am right where I want to be. If it weren't for attending Slippery Rock, I wouldn't have identified my academic interests as well else where. I love both of my majors in Public Health & Psychology! I am so glad Slippery Rock University gave me that opportunity to pursue both fields.

Overall Experience: Once i got used to all the changes of becoming a college student I really started to love it. I love meeting new people and always being around people my age, even walking around campus is fun. If it I had to do it all over I would pick Slippery Rock because I had a great first year experience so far.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I haven't attended yet, but both of my visits have been absolutely wonderful and friendly and made me incredibly excited to attend in the fall.

Overall Experience: Your entire college experience depends on your classes and roommate

Scholarships: It was okay, just a bit confusing

Off-Campus Dining: Slippery Rock is a very small town. There's only a few restaurants on main street in walking distance to campus. The other place you could go off campus to the variety and options are 20-40 minutes away in more crowded areas. The local restaurants are really good though. The brewery has the best food ever. And Camelot has really good breakfast for cheap. It is really good food, but there's no where else to go.

Administration: I never really have any interactions with the administration. I never got in trouble for anything or knew anyone. I guess they do a good job because you don't see a lot of chaos going on around campus.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food is alright. Boozel can be good depending on what they're serving. Wesinfluh and Campus Grill are my favorites, but they are only open tip 2:30 during the week and usually I have class and don't get to go. The food on campus isn't bad, it just gets to be the same old and feels very boring after a while.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I got an academic scholarship which covered my tuition. That was really easy to deal with. The rest of the loans went very smoothly and I had no problems getting my finical aid and loans and things together.

Campus Housing: Living on campus at Slippery Rock is really great. The residential dorms are very spacious and clean. Each room has its own private bathroom which is nice. The campus itself is gorgeous. It is nestled in Pennsylvania's rolling hills with lots of trees surrounding it. There's not much to do off campus, but Pittsburg isn't too far away. The food is pretty good, but can get kind of old. The people are pretty friendly. I was surprised at how nice people are about holding doors open for others.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The cost of off campus food varies, some places are reasonable, some outrageous, and some really cheap.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is pretty decent, but a car is necessary, as is a job.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: The parties are good at first, but it's the same people doing the same things every weekend, and it just gets boring eventually.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The campus is completely dry, which prevents kids from excessive partying, giving students more time to study.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Boozel has it's good days and it's bad days, sometimes it's entirely too crowded and the entire campus is there, and sometimes the food is just not good, or the options are poor.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid process went fairly smooth for me, I didn't have many issues with the whole system. As for tips, I would say ask questions to the financial aid office, they are really helpful and reliable.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is great, but the dorms are extremely pricey, and parking is almost impossible.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: the choices of apartments are pretty good but they are either too expensive or too far from campus or not very nnice

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: i dont really go our but if I do my friends and I go off campus to the frats

Picking a college is a tough decision and nobody expects you to have your whole life charted out upon high school graduation. Fortunately, Slippery Rock can help you find yourself by exposing you to a laundry list of opportunities and organizations. Sure, students gripe about Weisenfluh food, the miserable weather, and the Ticket Nazi, but SRU students are in it together. Here, you are not treated as a number, but, in many cases, as a family member. Most students agree that the people are what make this place. You will not only make lifelong friendships and connections with fellow students but with professors and local townspeople, as well. It is highly difficult to find a school where professors sincerely care about you, and not just about their research and side projects.

In recent years, Slippery Rock has been trying to overcome the party school stigma that has overshadowed its sophisticated academic programs. Known for many programs, including education, physical therapy, and parks and recreational management, Slippery Rock offers high quality at a low price. Remember that a well-rounded education does not have to translate into millions of dollars in student debt. It is highly recommended that before you commit yourself to any school, visit the campus and see if it feels right. Though some schools look terrific on paper, you may be disappointed upon arrival. Slippery Rock offers something for everyone, and it’s highly recommended that you get involved and make the most of your time here. At Slippery Rock, we play hard, we work hard, and most agree that they would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Go Rock!
