5 College Freshman

Campus Food: Great variety, very quality food, better than most other schools

5 College Student

Campus Food: The skidmore campus food was delicious and it seemed to be freshly made and used good ingredients as well.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: While sometimes there will be those days when the food is just not to your liking, there is always pizza and pasta to fall back on. There is a large variety of food, with all options for even vegetarians and international students. There are some weeks when Global is consistently on point. The live action pasta is my favorite of all the options. Students will sometimes complain about "dhall" food, but when my friends in other colleges describe their options, ours never sounds that bad.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: The dinning hall is awesome, totally under appreciated.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Apparently the chefs have won a competition many years in a row. The food is good, but of course gets very repetitive. The Pasta Live Action station is always my savior. Also there is a deli that makes whatever kind of sandwich you want.

The food at Skidmore is quite good for "college food." There is only one main dining hall, Murray-Aikins, almost exclusively referred to as "d-hall" around campus. D-hall has seven different stations: global, pasta dishes, diner (main course food), a vegetarian/salad bar, deli (you can order any kind of sandwich), pizza, and a bakery. There is also a DIY station—a grill with a full stock of eggs and omelet-like ingredients as well as a fully stocked case of bagels, bread, and English muffins. There is also a section for cereal. The food is very good and thoughtful, as there is always a large selection so most people's tastes are accommodated.

If you're living in the dorms, you must have an unlimited meal plan. With this meal plan, you're permitted to swipe into the dining hall as many times a day as you want. Once inside the dining hall, you may eat as much food as you'd like, as you do not pay per plate. Since all dorm students have an unlimited meal plan, the dining hall becomes an extremely social place to be, both freshman and sophomore years. Once you do not live in the dorms, you do not have a meal plan unless you sign up for one of the plans on the website (commuter, apartment, Dining Bucks). In addition to the dining hall, there are smaller on-campus eateries: Burgess Café for coffee/tea/snacks in Case Center, Atrium Café and Convenience Store located outside of the dining hall, the library café for coffee/tea/snacks in the library, and The SPA, which is a popular lunch location for upperclassmen and faculty, where you can get food from the grill, sandwiches, salads, soups, and more.
