Overall Experience: Simpson University is a private christian college where I really enjoy learning and being apart of the women's softball team. My school has less than 1700 students attending and its community oriented with the city of Redding. I wouldn't choose my school again because of the population size and atmosphere. Attending a christian college is extremely different from public state schools. I would want a more real feel of the college experience rather than a faith controlled environment where the students are stripped from their freedom of peoplehood and forced to duplicate themselves into being identical.

Overall Experience: I have met people that I know have become life long friends. There is a strong community at Simpson. Professors take interest in you as a student.

Athletics: A fun way to get out and support your classmates!

Off-Campus Housing: Students would like off campus housing to be offered to both Juniors and Seniors, however it is only offered to Seniors.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Good variety of healthy dining. Diverse options of cuisine

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I am not a part of the party scene.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus is firm in enforcing rules for the well being of the students.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Very helpful personnel. Could not attend college without the amount of financial aid that I recieve

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Good variety, some days better than others. Many improvements have been made

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Clean, semi spacious, great community

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There is usually always a place open, but it isn't always easy to get to campus from the apartments.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The food that is in Redding tastes good, but there isn't hardly anything that stays open late and not a ton to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The administration is nice and truly cares about you as an individual. But there are a lot of rules and it's pretty strict.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't know much about the parties at this school, it isn't nearly as big of a thing as it would be at a state college.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I'm on an athletic scholarship, which I get a decent amount for. But at the same time I get really good grades and this school will not allow you to get academic as well as athletic scholarships. Almost everyone on campus is in a lot of debt just to be going here because even if you have great grades the school won't even cover half of tuition.

Campus Food: Because it is a small campus there isn't a lot to choose from. The cafeteria serves the same food over and over again, and doesn't always make the best stuff. However the exhibition is usually pretty good.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are fairly nice and we all have our own bathroom.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: You will want a car to get places unless you like to take the bus, or walk.

Scholarships: Study hard and you will be rewarded. I got some scholarships at random from donors and there are several scholarships for academic merit and participation in school ensembles. They also provide info for outside scholarship information.

Greek Life: Nonexistent. We have an Alpha Chi honors society of which I am a part. We don't do anything.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus is convenient for all reasons except commuting to school. It's easy to find cheap meals. The apartments are shabby but decent if your standards aren't too high.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: I don't eat on campus; from what I hear the food gets old really fast.

4 College Senior

Administration: The policies are helpful in maintaining a serious scholastic environment.

2 College Senior

Local Area: Very hot in the summer. Very sparse so you need a vehicle. No nightlife at all. Good outdoors activities at lake Shasta.

2 College Senior

Party Scene: We aren't a party school. There are dorm "parties" but there is nothing spectacular. Most of the students are more focused on school.
