Off-Campus Dining

{{ error }}
4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Several different restaurants around the Boston area but the ones closest to the school can be pretty expensive. It's best to venture outside the area (Downtown Crossing, etc)

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: We are mostly surrounding by chain-restaurants, so they are convenient and do not cost too much. On the other hand, they do not give student discounts and there is not a large variety.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There's a Panera, Starbucks, McDonalds, and Chipotle within walking distance of the residence campus. These are all great options that are pretty cost-efficient and quick to grab. There are also lots of sit-down restaurants further down Brookline Avenue, like Unos, Jerry Remy's, and the Yard House. These are more expensive, but good options for when you have a little extra to splurge on. Students discounts aren't the greatest, but a lot of the quick-service locations accept Fenway cash (from your student ID), which is really convenient if you don't like to carry cash with you.

5 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: It's Boston.

The city of diversity and foods from various countries!

There are so many restaurants out there that it would take me more than 10 years to eat at every restaurant.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not a lot in the area except a few decent pizza joints, but I guess that's all you need when you're in college.

Freshman waistlines beware: While the quality of on-campus dining is debatable, the Boston area provides a wide variety of cuisine suitable for any taste. The diversity of Boston brings with it a range of Latin, Asian, Italian, and fusion foods. There is something for everyone—especially if you are willing to experiment. It is often very difficult to decide where to go. The unique Little Italy area of the North End provides the perfect date spot, while Chinatown provides authentic Chinese food. Peterborough Street, also known as “restaurant row,” is close to the College, although it recently suffered a fire and lost several restaurants. For a classic taste of the familiar, there is a Burger King, Longhorn’s, a Subway, and a McDonald’s nearby. In the food court of the Longwood Towers, you will find other food chains, as well.

During the treacherous winter, Ankara and Hidyan Café become Simmons students’ favorites. Both restaurants offer late-night delivery and menus with a range of sandwiches, pizza, and salads. It is not rare to see the same delivery guy several times a night. Frozen yogurt (fro-yo) is a favorite for study groups, with add-ins like Snickers, Heath, or the more exotic avocado. The prices at restaurants reflect both the upscale culture of the city, as well as a willingness to adapt to a college student’s budget.
