4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I've previously gone to for-profit colleges and have had some very bad experiences. But those experiences have led me to Sierra College. It is an institution based on helping each other out and reaching a common goal and I couldn't be happier to say that I'm a part of it.

Overall Experience: nice school. Proving you live in-state and financial aid take a long time.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: It is definitely a lot cheaper to start at a community college. The only thing I do not like about it is that it is not the real college experience I was hoping for.

Overall Experience: As a community college, I've been pleasantly surprised by the classes I've taken, the professors and students I've gotten to know and the subject matters which I've become passionate about. There are some great hidden gems at this school, search out professor ratings and find the good ones. My eyes have been opened to areas of study I had no idea I would love!

Student Body: The student body is very diverse! As for accepting, I'm not so sure, you'll find your group that best fits you (whomever that may be) and you'll also find some people that just don't/won't get along with you. It's just like every other college out there, there are really accepting people and then there aren't, it's not one or the other.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition here is AMAZINGLY! I wish I could tell every college student to go to a JC and then transfer to a university, it's so much cheaper. No debt to worry about and the quality of education is great. I'm so happy with my decision to attend Sierra College!

Academic Experience: Since my major is nursing, I have a pretty hefty workload, it's definitely manageable though. I'm able to work part time and go to classes almost full time and still able to see my family! if nursing is your passion then you'll do just fine! Just put your nose to the grindstone and you'll get through it with little to no struggle! One tip I have is to have a good support system, whether that's friends, family or a significant other it's imperative for success!

Academic Experience: The professors in my classes are so helpful and encouraging, I love them and I haven't had a bad one yet (knock on wood). When I met with my counselor, I felt like she was trying to dissuade me from declaring nursing as my major, I didn't mind though because I know they want every student to be as successful as possible and they see a lot of nursing students wash out and change majors once they realize how much work is involved.

Campus Resources: The student center and library are very user friendly and everyone that works there is super nice and helpful!

4 College Senior

Career Services: I have heard of many students moving on to successful jobs from Sierra.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: I found many people with the same major as I have. I enjoyed all classes specifically related to my major. My academic experience was positive at Sierra in that my instructors were available to talk, give me constructive advice about how to approach an assignment, and were easy to approach.

Academic Experience: The academic process was not difficult to understand when it came to signing up for classes. I mainly chose my teachers based off of other students suggestions and personal experiences. I found that there was a plethora of psychology, STEM, and nurse majors.

Campus Resources: All resources on campuses are easily accessible to Sierra College students. The campus is highly involved in student led activities for things such as human rights, doing something about injustice, having informational days about nearby 4 year universities, and many more things!

Online Courses: they make it extremely easy to use.

Overall Experience: i think the programs here are great. The school is really about the students, they offer lots of extra programs to help the students succeed.

Academic Flexibility: I haven't had a lot of issues with flexibility going here. They have many classes offered so I can always find something that fits with my schedule.

Overall Experience: Overall this school is amazing. The professors and students are amazing and there are many wonderful classes and programs available. The campus itself is beautiful and the walks are literally treelined, giving the campus much character. It's conveniently located for entertainment, housing, eating, and any services students could want. The school is older but in no way is it stuck in the past. There always seems to be an interesting event going on on the campus and there are many activities you can get involved in. Most of the students are passionate about learning and also incredibly friendly and outgoing.

Overall Experience: The classes I've taken so far haven't been too large. Most of the professors at this school are passionate about what they teach and interested in their students.

Online Courses: For online classes I think it can be kind of a tossup. I've only taken one online class so far and my experience was definitely great. However I've talked to several other students who have had less than pleasant experiences with online classes. The complaints I've heard are that some of the teachers are not always the best about getting the assignments up and some online classes assign way too much of a workload. I plan to take more online classes here though. I think you just need to pay attention to what teacher you get and look them up on rate my professor. I also think that it depends on the student, online courses may not be the best fit for everybody. For the most part I would say that the online courses are great and I think that most of my fellow students would agree with me.

4 College Freshman

Student Body: The people at school are pretty diverse and I've met a lot of different people. The students are of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. It's been enjoyable for me to meet so many different people.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Sierra college has wonderful financial aid. So far all of my classes have been paid for. I only have had to pay for the health fee(which is a hardly anything) and my books. I know some students who gotten their books paid for as well though.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Registration isn't too much of a hassle. The classes I've had so far have been amazing, the teachers are passionate about what they teach, and the classes are a nice size.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The school has a wonderful library and many different campus resources

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The veterans center is great in keeping me informed of what I need to do!

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Everyone moves at an easy pace and great teachers.
