Health & Safety: My first night at school my behind was grabbed by a slowly moving car while walking on a sidewalk. Very scary.

Campus Housing: I lived on campus for one year and it was perfectly fine. Never had any problems while living in Shaw Hall. We had heat and air conditioning, carpet, large closet, and the bathrooms were very spacious and clean.

Overall Experience: The professors are like friends who get to know and understand you as an individual. I am an art student and while the art professors are the most amazing I have ever had, my general studies professors have been just as helpful. There is a lot of community involvement at Shepherd and everyone is like a family; students, faculty and staff, and residents.

Athletics: Our football team is amazing and everyone gets involved in the games

Health & Safety: Personally I do not agree with the methods that Shepherd uses to handle sexual assault cases, people can easily be falsely accused of sexual assault and people have gotten away with sexual assault. Shepherd needs to find a new way to conduct these cases and always have a Title IX coordinator on staff. Although the police on campus do seem to do their jobs well.

Overall Experience: Small class sizes are wonderful, it allows professors to know the students personally. The art buildings are new and have great equipment.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Shepherd offers a BFA for art students, which is a Bachelor of Fine Art, which are more highly regarded in the art world.

Campus Housing: Housing is good at Shepherd, although freshman dorms have no A/C but most students make do with fans. Other housing on campus is great the apartments are spacious and comfortable as are the suites.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The Wellness center is great for anyone to go to, it is open to the community as well.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Shepherd is a small school, the art program has a very close group of students where most people know each other.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus crime happens not to often, but if they find out they make sure to email all students. Campus police is wonderful and friendly, and will protect us as much as they can. I feel pretty in day time but night time I wouldn't want to walk alone on campus, good thing I don't have to!

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Most professors are very helpful, great class sizes, and styles

Campus Housing: When coming to live on campus I thought it would be much better than the reality of it. The rooms are in awful condition. Tight spacing, limited closet space, dirty carpet and walls, lighting, and how thin the walls are. For the place I am living in I believe the price is much too high. The bathrooms are also a major issue. They reek and are always dirty. The social atmosphere is okay, I'm almost never in my hall during the day so I don't interact with a lot of people in the building.

Greek Life: As a member of Greek Life I can say that I think it is has been very beneficial for me. Greek life has given my many opportunities that have helped me grow as an individual. I have learned many aspects that will greatly assist me in my future. The attitude of non-Greeks to Greeks is mostly negative. The Greeks on campus are viewed as snobby, stuck up and only joining to have friends, but these are also thoughts that went through my mind before I joined greek life. These people will never know until they get the actual experience. Greek Housing is not allowed here.

Overall Experience: Coming in I was very excited, but now some of that excitement has died down. I am realizing that my program of study has an enormous workload, that almost sounds impossible. The social aspect of the school is nice. The programs that are put on are always a nice way to meet new people and relax from stress.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I really enjoy my time here. Classes aren't huge, so I feel I am not lost among other students and just a number. My professors are wonderful and so understanding about how real life can sometimes get in the way of school. My teachers have all really enjoyed what they are teaching and made me feel the love they express for the topic at hand.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are job fairs and the school puts out information about possible internships or jobs. My major requires an internship so I will have one no matter what, which could lead to job opportunities.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe most of the time on campus. There isn't usually a time I have felt in danger or unsafe. I do disagree with certain practices. I understand that if someone is being accused of sexual harassment, that they should be able to look into it without the victim's name being given away, right away. If you live in the same dorm with this person it could cause them to strike out at you or make things worse. There isn't any protection for the victim.

Campus Housing: I live in Substance free and am very happy with my choice. It is clean and the whole building has a great social atmosphere. We all know each other and are friendly, even if we are not in the same social groups.

We only have one laundry room which is an issue a lot of the time, but we get by.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I honestly know very little about my schools Greek Life. I do know that some do a lot for the community and the school, but many are just cliques who often cause trouble on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My time here so far has been okay. My teachers and adviser are incredibly supportive and helpful. Administration can sometimes be difficult, though, due to the use of paperwork rather than online resources. Instead of filling things out online and sending it to who it needs to go to, we have to go through a long and drawn out process. Going from office to office, crossing campus and back again just to get your major changed or simple paperwork filled out is very frustrating.
