3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The teachers are for the most part very good. There is a good selection of courses and the class sizes are very small.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I don't think alumni are very involved with the school after they graduate.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I usually feel very safe on campus, but I also don't put myself in potentially dangerous situations.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The housing process for next year was irritating and in some ways unfair.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I do not play a sport and have only attended half a football game and one baseball game.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My school has a wide range of majors which attracts a very diverse group of students.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Professors, in my two semesters of experience, have a great passion for the subjects they teach and are always readily available to help the student learn and to answer more specialized questions outside of class. The courses that I take are always relevant and extremely useful!

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: As a musician, it's always going to be hard to find a job but I'm already building so many connections and they are teaching us how to network and how to develop our skills very very well!

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: DPS can be a pain but they're really great at doing their job and looking out for students' welfare. They take substance abuse very seriously as they should.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I lived in Gore my freshman year and will be living in Edwards this coming year--as a freshman avoid Funk and Racey at all costs!! I like the option for more private living and the rooms were spacious enough!

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: We don't have social/party-throwing greek life. Rather we have professional and service fraternities such as Sigma Alpha Iota (the one I'm In), Alpha Kappa Psi (a business fraternity) and Alpha Lambda Delta (an academic fraternity for freshmen).

3 College Freshman

Athletics: We're a D3 school so if you're looking to make a career in the NFL, this isn't the school for you. However SU is currently building an amazing new athletic facility and all our athletic teams are greatly supported by the student body.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my majors (Musical Theatre Accompanying and Vocal Performance)--SU does an amazing job at creating opportunities for the student as well as helping the student shape their own education to create a unique and prosperous experience. Check out the GCP and FYS programs--going to Bhutan with the GCP program this past spring break changed my life, and my FYS (The Politics and Culture of Food) totally changed my global perspective!

4 College Junior

Party Scene: Bars in Winchester are really cheap

3 College Junior

Party Scene: Apple Blossom is all that matters to me

2 College Junior

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

The overall experience at Shenandoah University is really refreshing. It makes students feel safe that they are on the right path to success in life. It also makes them feel comfortable and prepared enough for grad school once they graduate. Even though there are many schools out there in the world, many students enjoy SU because of the all-around connection they have with the teachers, students, and other staff members on campus.

SU prepares students for future careers in many areas and through many ways. Teachers constantly remind students what to expect in graduate school or things they need to remember for certain fields. SU, as a whole, helps prepare students by having job fairs. Shenandoah invites up to about 100 volunteers to come and talk about their job experiences. The volunteers explain to students what their college life was all about and how the transition is from college to the real world. Shenandoah is very unique because almost every student is there to work and study hard for a future career. The school isn't like many others, where students choose to attend because of parties or frats. SU seems like many of the students are there to meet new people and to expand their horizons.
