I absolutely loved my experience at Shawnee! All of the teachers were extremely helpful, and I felt as if I was in a very comfortable and relaxed environment while receiving rigorous coursework.

Online Vs. Traditional – The workload seems to be much lighter in online classes, yet the availability to learn is at the same level as in a traditional class. Peer-to-peer interaction is limited. Althought professor-to-student interaction could be limited, it rarely is, and I have found that I have connected better with most of my online teachers than my teachers for traditional classes.

Dual Credit and Escrow Classes – While I was in high school, I was able to take many college level classes in my high school by earning dual credit. That is, I earned credit at both the high school and college levels. During the summers, I took escrow classes on my own through Shawnee Community College. All of these classes enabled me to be far ahead of many others who are my age, and I will be receiving my Associate's Degree one year after high school rather than two which is the norm.
