4 College Student

Campus Housing: Everyone lives on campus during all four years, so there's really nothing to complain about. everyone's always here!

5 College Student

Majors: the connections you make with people here will lead you to the open doors you need to go through

5 College Student

Party Scene: It's just like boarding school with lots of partying. It's a great time.

3 College Student

Local Area: the local town isn't too packed with things to do, but nashville is great and not too far away! campus is usually the most fun place to be.

2 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: There is no where else to live but on campus because its on a mountain

3 College Student

Scholarships: Scholarships find you here, but you have to put in some work.

5 College Student

Greek Life: 80% of the student body participates in greek life, and all of the events are always open to anyone

4 College Student

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus. Maybe it's the isolation, or not, but I always, ALWAYS feel safe.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Everyone lives on campus. Off campus housing doesn't exist.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Sewanee does it best to provide financial aid to students who cannot pay the full price of the school.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet, but I do plan on getting one. I think it's a perfect experience to have just to see what you might want to pursue once you graduate.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Housing isn't the best at Sewanee, but it isn't a total bust.

3 College Freshman

Academics: Sewanee is a handful sometimes. I have weeks where I don't have much to do, but sometimes I have weeks where I am loaded with studying and homework.

3 College Freshman

Administration: It depends on what the situation is. Most of the time, it isn't that bad.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I love Greek life at Sewanee. For the most part, everyone is welcoming and friendly.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Not many people have school spirit. Also, no student section at football and basketball games.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: Not much to do at Sewanee if you're not into outdoors activities.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Local area is very rural and quiet. Not a whole lot going on, so campus life is pretty much self-contained except for the occasional expedition to Walmart.

Overall Experience: Love it. Students, professors, courses ... everything is awesome.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It seems to be pretty good. Nearly everyone I know has a good option upon graduation, and some get really good offers straight out of college. Career services is super helpful in placing you and helping you get in tough with professionals in your field of interest.

Off-Campus Dining: It's pretty good for the size of the community, but since the local area consists mostly of students, there are not a whole lot of places that can sustain a business during the summer.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: For the most part the administration does a great job, although they've pretty much given up on enforcing any technical rules in place about underage drinking (if you're drunk you can get rides home with the police, no questions asked, and the school has a bus system in place specifically to keep drunk students from driving). Noise violations in the dorms cold be enforced a little more strictly.

Off-Campus Housing: Students aren't allowed to live off campus until senior year, and then only with a certain GPA. Because of this, and the tiny size of the surrounding community, there are only very few off-campus living options. Overall, because of the niceness of campus life here, everyone is pretty happy with the situation.

Greek Life: A huge percentage of students are Greek (I think I heard 80%) but no one really cares if you're not. Each Greek organization is allowed to have one closed formal a year, but all other parties and events must be open to everyone, which really fosters a nice community spirit. As a non-Greek, I really enjoy how open people are. There's no real difference in treatment, which is nice, because Greek life dominates the social life on campus and is the source of most weekend activity. Greek housing is technically available, but pretty low quality and each organization has room to house only about five members, so the majority of Greek students live in the dorms with everyone else.

Campus Housing: All students live in dorms the first three years, and almost all live in dorms senior year as well. Although there are some options that incur some bitter complaints, even these worst living options are on par with the best at other schools I've visited.
