3 College Junior

Diversity: It is an average diversity rate for a typical University.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I am so satisfied with the Nursing School at SHU and highly recommend this school to any person who wishes to become a nurse. The school offers a variety of programs from BSN to PhD programs.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The process of gaining entry into the nursing school was very grueling. I required a lot of leg work and letters of recommendation and was very time-consuming for me. You have to be very organized and pull together a portfolio of your work and meet for an interview. If you can prepare for the interview ahead of time by role-playing with someone who knows how to prepare you for the interview, this would be the most helpful thing you can do to be prepared. Also get assistance in updating your resume so that it is brief but information packed.

Off-Campus Dining: The restaurants are the average variety although students are usually cash poor and stay on campus

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Students can walk to town for shopping and dining needs

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Students must be pro active in searching and locating scholarships. The financial office is very helpful.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The campus is strict in regards to alcohol use among students

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I do not have experience with Greek life

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Diversity on campus is average in my opinion

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food is average on the campus but the addition of a Dunkin Donuts on the campus is an added bonus

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: All students must be alert when walking on campus but especially off campus.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is good but the downside is that parking on campus is a hassle and time consuming process

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: SHU is a very wonderful experience and students should come and visit the campus because you will be hooked as soon as you see it.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The SHU basketball team is the finest in New Jersey and students enjoy watching the games at the ROCK in Newark New Jersey.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Institutes life-long learning and promotes a atmosphere of encouragement for achieving advanced degrees

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletic center was just completely redone and is now BEAUTIFUL. The new gym is easily the nicest I've seen with lots of workout options and brand new equipment. Basketball is the major sport of interest and many people go to the games. Its a huge part of the school and so much fun! School spirit is very high and many people love going to games to support our school.

Majors: Seton Hall is one of the best schools for nursing. The professors are great and the program itself is amazing. They place you in great clinicals and really do everything they can to help you learn.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Clinical placement for nursing majors is amazing. For other majors internships are available if you apply to them. I've seen people intern for SNL, MTV, the superbowl, and many other notable companies.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Seton Hall does so much for its students holding many free activities like concerts, festivals, carnivals, and other activities where they give away lots of free stuff, especially free food. The fall concert and Grooveboston are huge campus events that everyone loves.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: They just redid the athletic center which is now BEAUTIFUL. During nicer weather everyone is on the green which is so much fun.

5 College Sophomore

Transportation: The shu-fly has a route that picks you up from campus and drops you off at several locations in town. Walking to town only take about 5 minutes and its an easy walk so in nice weather many students just choose to walk. The Saferide is great for getting to and from parties at night so that you dont have to walk.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: Very diverse campus. Lots of students from different ethnicity's and many foreign exchange students.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are numerous parties every thursday/friday/saturday nights and its not hard to find parties during the week either. People are always down to drink. As long as you know the right people you will NEVER have an issue finding a party to go to. Anyone who says the nightlife at seton hall isnt good clearly doesnt know the right people. The best parties are at the frats, but sometimes can get crowded. As a freshman the best advice is to try to meet people to get connections early on to get into the good parties. By joining a sorority or fraternity you gain access to the best parties and most fun people on campus.

Local Area: There are so many options for food. The closeness to NYC is great so you can always take a last minute trip into the city. The town of south orange is actually really adorable.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: There are so many options in the caf including pizza, soup, a buffet area, make your own pasta, baked goods, steam your own vegetables, specialty stations, wok it up, make your own eggs, waffle station, make your own quesadilla, a carvery, a huge salad bar, fries, hot dogs/burgers, cereal, sandwich station, and icecream. there are endless options you just have to be creative. Towards the end of the semester it gets boring so save up your piratebucks to spend on nathans, pizzeria, sandwiches, salads, the cove, dunkin and more

Part of your education is being around people from different walks of life, and no place is better for that than Seton Hall, one of the most diverse campuses in the country. The social scene at Seton Hall is very trendy and fast-paced. The school is full of rich kids with all the money in the world to burn, and they normally burn it on clothes and bars. Seton Hall's education is good depending upon your major. Business, nursing, computer science, and diplomacy are what make Seton Hall a Tier II school. The people you meet here, and the friendships that you form, make this school a community. After an academically-tough freshman year, the only thing that kept me from transferring were the friends that I would miss. Another good reason to attend Seton Hall is its proximity to New York City, which is an endless bank of great internships, and possibly jobs. The Career Center on campus works very hard to obtain Seton Hall students positions in places like Wall Street, and as the saying about NYC goes, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

If you do come to Seton Hall, you should get involved with a group or organization. In high school, it was not cool to be in the Stock Market Club, but here, the kids who are in it might be the future millionaires, so find something you like or something that is orientated with your studies. Finally, balance your work and your play. Part of the professional world is based on people skills, and if you are cramped up in the library the whole time, chances are, you do not have the best social skills. On the other hand, if you do not know where the library is by junior year, then you need to seriously rethink the whole college thing.
