Academic Experience: Be prepared to never sleep.

Academic Experience: My department is Film/Video. I specifically major in the editing side of it. But I am always eager to learn from each side of the production world. As I have mentioned previously, I love the access for editing softwares because it helps me better than working at home on my laptop. All big computers and the space feels great to be around.

Academic Experience: The workload isn't always crazy, but when there is a lot of work to do, you have to learn how to use your time wisely. The professors will help you through different programs, especially during freshman year when you take Digital Compositing. Drawing and Anatomy classes really help you with pushing poses when you animate. Also, there are plenty of opportunities if you either attend the special events that SVA sends you via email, or one of the staff members in our department sends you an email about internships. These events include animators talking about their experience at Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, Nick, or Cartoon Network and giving you, the student, a chance to ask any questions regarding the process of making a film or TV show.

Academic Experience: Facilities are incredible, amazing job opportunities

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I've always known that the art world is very competitive and is not as important as business or medical careers, and it is also very specific so finding a good paying job in this career would actually be very difficult. Despite this, I only chose to be a part of this program only because it is something that I enjoy and that it makes me happy, as I grew up learning to pursue something that I will love doing, and luckily I'm learning of ways to earn money so that I would not end up struggling financially.
