3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Some guys are nice and respectful and girls are friendly, but some girls are stuck up and guys only want to have sex with other girls

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Lots of the students are more interested in their social lives than their studies. Many of the students share similar interests. Though this is a relatively small college, it is not a high school, and the social lives of others are not as public or cared about.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The students at my school run the gamut from party happy to very determined to achieve academically. Most of the students are 2nd and third generation college students and they take their education seriously. My school has campus parties and most students attend early in the semester then tend to settle down as the semester goes on. Many clubs and organizations exist on campus so there is a variety of things to keep a student busy. Many of the students are openly gay but you will not see them paired up and openly showing affection .

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Some guys and girls are very immature.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Students are very active and pride themselves on being unique. Relationships come and go and some people are very open about that fact.

The guys and girls at SSU are friendly, but when it comes to the dating game, you'll be surprised to see who talks to whom and who's messing around with each other. You'll have some individuals who will engage in random hookups, one-night stands, and those who are actually in relationships. Savannah State is not big, so you see almost everything. The average student is simply looking for someone to hang with.

While the guy-to-girl ratio is 3 to 5, meaning for every three boys there are five girls, it becomes quite competitive considering everyone wants to be a "player." Overnight visitation with the opposite sex is not permitted, so it's safe to say everyone is pretty reserved since no one's business is out there, but surely things happen. In addition, Savannah State promotes safe sex, and provides information and contraception. All in all, get to know your surroundings and play your cards correctly.

Social Scene
Everyone is social and ready to mingle. There is always something going on throughout the day; whether it be in King-Frazier or Alexis Circle, you'll be sure to see students out there. In addition, you meet people in your classes and at social events. During freshman year, you'll meet friends that will more than likely be lifelong sisters and brothers. Just socialize and stay active, and you'll never have problems meeting people.
Hookups or Relationships?
Hookups and relationships primarily depend on preference. It all happens throughout the school year; whether you meet the man of your dreams in English 101 or just have fun and play the field, you're bound to meet someone that will make you smile.
Dress Code
The way everyone dresses is an important aspect. When you walk through King-Frazier Student Center, it's similar to a "cat walk." Everyone is well dressed. During class, you'll have those students who wear sweatpants, business casual, and everyday wear, and others that will be dressed to impress. At parties, it's more of a ladies' thing. Women will wear pumps or stilettos, while gentlemen wear regular clothes, except Delta Eta, who always wear their "Sunday's Best" (e.g., a suit). Particularly on Wednesdays, SSU dresses for success, either in business casual or clothes you'd wear to church-but not something you'd wear to the club. All in all, SSU is a big fashion show, and everyone has their own sense of style.
