3 College Student

Student Body: Typical student body. We have had issues with diversity training and harassment, but a new sexual consent month has been instituted.

Student Body: The diversity at SMC is pretty awesome with tons of international students and lots of clubs. But even if you don't join any clubs you will make some friends. There are a lot of student hang out areas around the campus from the student lounge to benches and seating areas and lawns all around with students to converge.

There is also club row every year were clubs get together and have stalls were they try and recruit you (don't worry thats not painful they do things like free hugs and dancing) They also make and sell food and otherwise entertain, its pretty fun even if you aren't looking to join club.

Its hard to describe the typical student here because no one is typical!

Student Body: The students are so diverse, you can find someone from every country or religion. Since it is a community college, it is hard to hang out with people after class because they most likely work. But there is acceptance.

Santa Monica College is well known for its tremendous diversity. Students come from around the world and from all walks of life. Some are local students, some are from other areas in the U.S., and some are from half-way across the globe. Most students are warm and welcoming and curious about other peoples' cultures.

The average student is very friendly, driven, and motivated. They come here mostly to learn, but also to bond and connect with others. The different ethnic groups and diverse sexual orientations are accepted and represented here on campus. You can join organizations such as the Association of Latin American Students, Black Collegians Club, Chinese Student Association, Iranian Students Club, German Club,  Japanese English Language Association, Turkish Student Association, and many others. Since SMC has exceptional tolerance of minorities of any group, the school has become its own little cultural melting pot.
