One of the biggest perks for me about attending SFCC is the studnet diversity. There is a high Hispanic, Native American population. We have a growing Arabic, African American, African, and Asian population. There is a large White population as well. In my classes, I have had classmates ranging from 15-80 years of age. There are people from all socioeconomic backgrounds as well. I have attended class with everyone from former prison inmates to single mothers, to individuals with degrees already, to teenagers trying to gain college credit, to artists, to people in the middle of a career change, to older people taking classes to enhance their social life, to people like me, who are just starting school kind of late and just now figuring out what it is they want to do. It's amazing!

SFCC Rocks – Media classes at this junior college are top notch with entertaining committed instructors, current software and lots of equipment availability. The monitors double as tutors, which is very helpful and official tutoring is also available. Take Maggie or Marcia. Even the copyright class isn't boring!
The Photography Dept isn't as good in digital but their darkroom instructor is fabulous. The monitors are clueless but nice. Don't take Gary Cook. Take Joe or Marcel.
Psychology Dept is good. I've taken all my classes online and was surprised not to miss the classroom discussions because the online discussion is excellent. Santa Fe culture is very different than where I grew up, affording interesting cultural insights; but there are students from all over the country too because tuition is competitively priced.
Yoga classes at SFCC are fabulous & the gymn is good but they only let you take 2 hours for credit. I think more exercise is needed in a culture dominated by stress & obesity, so think this is a flaw.
Great town to live in, but expensive and remote. We don't have the fastest internet.
Administration at this school is very supportive and attentive.

Most of the teachers here are so nice and helpful. For the most, part they want their students to be successful. I have found that they will work with you and help you so that you can accomplish your goals. I have had to change an exam date due to going out of town and the teacher worked with me and let me take the exam with another class. I have also been to their offices to get questions clarified and for extra help and they were always very willing to listen and help me. I think Santa Fe College has some of the best teachers ever!
