Weather: Let's just say it was 70 degrees in February this year and I spent the week doing homework outside shaded by palm trees and rose bushes.

5 College Freshman

Weather: Since it is California it is usually always sunny. It doesn't snow, but since it is in the Bay Area it can get pretty cool.

Santa Clara is lucky to enjoy sunny and temperate weather year-round, with average temperatures ranging between 60 and 80 degrees. Fall weather stays warm until Thanksgiving (daytime highs can reach 85 degrees), though it starts cooling off at night around October. Winters can be rainy but are usually fairly mild, as temperatures rarely dip below 50 degrees during the day or 40 degrees at night. It usually only rains during the winter, but students should be prepared for spring showers during El Niño season. Spring quarter temperatures can get up to 90 or 100 degrees, so it's a good idea to purchase a fan for your room, especially if your building doesn't have air conditioning.

The beautiful weather gives the campus a nice and relaxed atmosphere, and sometimes makes the school feel more like a resort than a college. Students can be seen sunbathing in February, and many professors choose to hold class outside on exceptionally nice days.
