3 College Freshman

Athletics: I was on the tennis team. I played for 11 years and was recruited to come here. At the beginning of winter quarter I decided to quit the team because of a lot of reasons, but the lack of attention sports gets here was a factor for sure.

Overall Experience: I love this place with a passion. Classes are great, professors are good, and the people are amazing. I never really fit in where I'm from and I feel so at home here. Only downside is the financial aspect, it's very expensive and I am struggling to find the funds to stay here.

Campus Housing: Sanfilipo was pretty chill. People loved it here, one of the less expensive RLCs, many people moving here or staying.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: It's optional, not necessary for fun. No one wants to live in the Greek houses, people make fun of people in greek life but they would also like to join them for fun.

Overall Experience: The admission team has been very helpful and accurate.

Health & Safety: Many times, those who have been assaulted by the same perpetrator have been brushed away from administration due to the fact that said perpetrator is on a sports team and thus exonerated from any consequences.

Overall Experience: Silicon Valley am I right? Santa Clara students, especially those who are in the Business or Engineering schools, have an excellent chance at jobs and internship opportunities

Campus Housing: Depending on where you live, you'll either get a fancy renovated room in a nice building (Graham) or an older one with terrible lighting (Casa, Sobrato) and not a good setup overall.

Greek Life: The social system is run by greek life. If you have no affiliation whatsoever, you will find it near impossible to hang out with friends part of that social circle since they are the ones with all the mandatory parties

Mission Santa Clara de Asis
Mission Santa Clara de Asis

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Inspired by its Jesuit roots, Santa Clara's mission to educate the whole person by engaging the mind, body, and spirit encourages its students to maintain a healthy balance between work and play. Santa Clara's diverse academic, extracurricular, and community service opportunities make it easy for students to do what they love and to tailor their SCU experience accordingly. Though many students initially have a tough time adjusting (typical for most college freshmen), taking advantage of the resources provided by the strong campus community can help make the transition process easier. Thriving at Santa Clara requires finding your niche, which can take awhile, but is worth it once you do.

Most students cite weather, location, and academics as Santa Clara's greatest strengths, and they appreciate the active and supportive community on campus. While many students agree that they would change certain aspects of the school if they could (the cost of tuition taking priority), most feel pretty satisfied with their Santa Clara experience.
