Greek Life: Greeks are not sanctioned by the university, however the greek system still flourishes.

Guys & Girls: Guys are all friendly and good looking. There's a diverse population of guys.

Transportation: There's a bus that goes to the mall. There's an Amtrak station across from campus. The airport is about a 5 minute drive from campus. There are zip cars that are readily available for use on campus.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: The dorms have a sense of community. They are close to classes and convenient to the library and athletic facilities.

5 College Student

Weather: Blue skies and sunshine almost all year long, you can't beat that!

Campus Quality: There are lots of green spaces on campus. The library is modern and has a sterile feel to it.

4 College Student

Campus Quality: The facilities are top notch. The campus is open, clean and safe.

4 College Student

Academics: The curriculum is tough by very manageable. The registration process can be frustrating as a freshman since there are two required classes to fit in your schedule and only two other "electives" to try and fit in.

4 College Student

Athletics: It's great being a Division 1 campus.

3 College Student

Party Scene: Parties can be found at the frat/sororities or dorms.

4 College Student

Technology: Computers are nice to have for convenience sake.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Currently trying to find housing off-campus, and I wish it were an easier and assisted process.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I'm not in Greek life, but the houses are right across from campus and can get pretty loud if you live nearby.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I would love to have an internship. I've heard good things about the career center though I haven't gone before.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I'm not sure, I haven't heard of many scholarships. It's something a student has to search for on his or her own

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: I don't live too far, so if I need to I bring my car down. The bus is okay, but relying on the bus times rather than going at one's own pace isn't as ideal.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We still have chalkboards, though we have new buildings.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The size of campus allows students to be familiar with all the buildings and places. Different groups have their usual spots.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are parties to go to if you're willing to join sororities and fraternities for them, otherwise they're pretty lowkey parties.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: I do not follow with our university's sports, though I have heard good things about them. I also have friends who participate in intramurals.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: We receive notifications if something has happened on campus like a major theft or a sickness spreading around, which is very convenient.

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: Freshman year, personally, seemed as if there was very little diversity, but currently as a sophomore, there seems to be more diversity, though SCU could definitely improve on that.

Academics: Great and inspiring English professors, though I have only taken a handful of English courses

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Class sizes are small, so your experience is more personal and resonating.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: I'm not sure what to compare it to.

Mission Santa Clara de Asis
Mission Santa Clara de Asis

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Inspired by its Jesuit roots, Santa Clara's mission to educate the whole person by engaging the mind, body, and spirit encourages its students to maintain a healthy balance between work and play. Santa Clara's diverse academic, extracurricular, and community service opportunities make it easy for students to do what they love and to tailor their SCU experience accordingly. Though many students initially have a tough time adjusting (typical for most college freshmen), taking advantage of the resources provided by the strong campus community can help make the transition process easier. Thriving at Santa Clara requires finding your niche, which can take awhile, but is worth it once you do.

Most students cite weather, location, and academics as Santa Clara's greatest strengths, and they appreciate the active and supportive community on campus. While many students agree that they would change certain aspects of the school if they could (the cost of tuition taking priority), most feel pretty satisfied with their Santa Clara experience.
