Overall Experience: At every class I've taken so far, I've learned several skills and ideas I had never been exposed to. San Jose State has allowed me to WANT to succeed and develop my self-identitiy more. I like that all the classes I've taken were so diverse, with people coming from all around the world. I was able to gain the perspectives of not just myself, but also those that have lived in such a different culture than me. After my first year, the one thing that I really took out of my classes, was something I learned from English 2: think critically and question everything. I began to take what I learned to my actual real life experiences, which in return, made me a better person. I learned so much more about myself, and I'm so grateful for SJSU for pushing me and getting me out of my comfort zones.

Overall Experience: Since I'm just starting out my sophomore year, I haven't really been able to find a job through campus, but I was able to connect and network with possible employers in the future. The career center emails me about every 2 weeks on open positions, job fairs, or really any event to better my chances in landing a job after or during college. I have no doubt that I would be able to find an internship in my junior/senior year with all the connections SJSU has with alumni and other corporations around the area.

Health & Safety: Although there has been a lot of incidents lately regarding people with guns, or intruders, I think that there has been a lot of ways our school has attempted to keep our safety a priority. I like that I'm able to press the blue emergency light that is located all around campus in case I don't feel safe. There is a rare moment that other students aren't also around.

Because the MLK library is open to the public, it's important that we continue to have several security guards at all times because of the large amount of protection students need to feel safe studying or just meeting with others in.

Campus Housing: Unfortunately, I was not able to live on campus being a commuter, but I did get to see a taste of what it was like through my friends that did dorm.

Although they were at first home sick, they were able to meet a lot of people in their same building and floor that they said they wouldn't have been able to if they had not lived there. The housing process was quick and they loved the fact that they were able to get food within minutes.

Greek Life: I have seen both sides of being a non-greek and being a greek student, and the difference is tremendous. Being apart of the greek community opens up a new perspective of the school itself. I wouldn't have been surrounded by students that loved being involved in campus life and I wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet such a diverse amount of people. When I was a non-greek, I was always approached by those in fraternities and sororities to go to an event that they were hosting, or to get involved with helping them fundraise for their philanthropies. Now that I am now apart of raising money and awareness for the Arthritis Research, I feel that I'm also able to connect to others, regardless if they are greek or not, to help out with my own philanthropy. It's an amazing experience that I think our school excels at.

Athletics: I would say not many students are too involved with the athletics aspect of our school. I personally love attending football games and some basketball and volleyball intramurals, however I don't see as many students doing the same.

Overall Experience: As an undergraduate student at San Jose State University, I feel privileged to be able to not just gain a learning experience through the classes offered, but gain the knowledge and wisdom that the university as a whole has given me. I've received a tremendous amount of support from most of my professors in their classes as well as any difficulties I had academically and personally. My favorite memory so far was getting involved in the some of the organizations around school, such as Alpha Omicron Pi. Through this organization, I feel that I was able to better my communication skills, as well give back to my community through fundraising events. If I had a choice between a top, private school and San Jose State University, there is no doubt that I would still choose San Jose State. Although it may not be considered "the most prestigious," the amount of opportunities and the drive my professors and peers have motivate me to be the best I can be. Being located around the Silicon Valley, students are able to network even more with those in top industries and are surrounded by people with experience in their field. Like me, most students at this school are hard working and passionate about what they are doing. I am looking forward to the rest of my college experience as I embark on the rest of my journey here at State.
