Meteorology department is super-small and tight-knit! We can nearly-always come in to work in the computer lab when there's no class, and some profs will let us during classes as long as we're quiet. We're always ready to help each other out with met classes as well as programming, physics and math if we can and the profs are very nice and also always ready to help with whatever we need. SCAMS (student chapter of the American Meteorological Society) tries to provide fun and educational outings and opportunities and for a small fee you can be part of it all. Great learning environment and interesting (albeit sometimes intense) classes. We're also always on the look-out for job/internship opportunities for ourselves and each other and networking is fairly easy if you take the time. We also have our own weather instruments on the roof.

Living on campus opens up so many opportunities to your school as well as your surrounding community. There are certain dorms that have their own style, too. For example, the "Bricks" are the older dorms on campus but have more close-knit rooms, resulting in a more social environment. The newer CVV building is more modern and visually more appealing. It's a bright and sunny place with lots of palm trees that feel like you're in LA or maybe even Hawaii. However, living in more separated rooms tends to be a little less of a social community, but nonetheless still a lovely place to stay. We also have the sport center located very near the dorms and an amazing 8-story library, which is my personal favorite place to study. Our updated student union has a variety of foods to eat like Panda Express, Mojo Burger, Bricks Pizza, and more!

Currently, I am applying for internships. SJSU provides many services (such as our career center), opportunities for networking, and required hours of volunteering. The university prides it's self with staying up to date with the latest technology and techniques within the recreational therapy field. I am excited to go on internship, graduate, test for my certification, and to start my career!
