Campus Housing: My response to this question shouldn't apply because i have never lived on campus.

Campus Housing: I was in the Campus Village B so it was very nice. However when I stayed at the bricks for orientation, it was really dirty and compact so I didn't really like it. I did, though, like how I could meet and talk to many people. The campus village suites were harder to get to know people.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is great in my opinion. You do lose a sense of community and closeness with your neighbors you have in the dorms, but you have more freedom. The prices can vary but you have a lot of options. If you start looking early enough like early may then you are sure to find a place for the upcoming school year. You could either rent a room by yourself or move into a house or apartment with roommates. You may run into some landlords who are hard to deal with but you can always find another place when your lease is up. Right now together me and my roommates pay 3000 to live down the block from campus in a 3 bedroom apartment. Its not the cheapest but it sure is convenient and i can afford it.

Off-Campus Dining: There are all kinds of restaurants found around campus at any time of day. Cost of meals can vary if you want very elegant food, or just a quick burger. Many choices of Mexican cuisine, as well as Asian and Indian. Many of the restaurants are close by within walking distance which makes them very convenient. Some are even open until 2 am for the people leaving the parties who need to eat before going to bed.

Party Scene: The party scene at San Jose is pretty epic. you can walk down any of the streets on a Saturday night and find a house full of students partying and having fun. Many of the house parties are thrown by certain groups on campus but are typically open to all. There is the football house, water polo house, the DC parties, and the rugby house, and many more. The fraternity parties are usually big bash parties but are exclusive unless you have titties. If you are in a fraternity you defiantly will be having an awesome party experience, but if your not you can still find great house parties near by.

Administration: My campus is pretty lenient when it comes to personal expression and creativity. They do how ever enforce rules such as no alcohol in the dorms if you are under 21, and illegal drugs like marijuana are strictly prohibited. How ever these substances are still very prevalent on campus. College students will always find a way to bend the rules until they are caught. The disciplinary actions are straight forward and discourage students from committing multiple offences. Officials are very understanding and want to know the whole story behind each incident which I believe to be very helpful and fair. Our campus is very open and is very tolerant allowing multiple forms of expression with out fear of harassment.

Scholarships: My school is pretty good with financial aid. I received enough to cover tuition, books and can still had extra left over. My advice is to keep your GPA above a 2.0 to keep receiving financial aid because I lost mine and the struggle is real.

Campus Food: The food in the Student Union is very god. They have a variety of choices from Mexican food, taco bell, to Asian food, Panda Express. The lines could get long how ever during the lunch hour rushes but other times it is really convenient. There are always students in the Student Union studying and working on class projects which gives a good atmosphere. It is also great place to meet people or meet up with people to work on assignments. The dining commons has decent food most of the time. Many students eat there because of the meal plan so you can network with many of your peers there. Just below has the best sandwiches on campus hands down. Over all San Jose has a variety of different foods available to meet any ones needs.

Campus Housing: Campus life was phenomenal. On the day I moved into my dorm I meet so many people who were all really friendly. I never before been in a place where so many people who were my age were living under the same roof with our supervision. I was exposed to so many new situations and experiences that my first year in college is arguably my favorite college year so far. The atmosphere was always good, and I made many strong bonds and friendships that I still have today as a finishing sophomore. Coed dorming was one of the best choices I ever made in terms of meeting people and always having a good time on or off campus. If i could afford to live on campus again I would because freshman year was the best year in my college career so far.

Campus Food: Food is a hit or miss for some people. Some love it some hate it.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: There are three different dorms, the bricks (cheapest), joe west, and cvc (most expensive). You get what you pay for.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Out of personal experience I have had difficulties with it.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Dining off campus is convenient and priced fairly but the options aren't really healthy.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: At San Jose State, the system of administration they have going on is fair and works right.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The parties are fun because you are surrounded by your fellow Spartans, but parties at San Jose State can be very selective.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: If you are a dependent like I, to simplify things just use the Data Retrieval Tool on the FAFSA application, and make sure to turn in any paper work before the deadline for maximum funding.

Campus Food: Overall, even though the food on campus can be expensive, it's portioned correctly and is pretty good.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The Housing I was placed in were "The Bricks", they are getting old and are in the process of being taken down.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live at home with my parents and I have never tried looking for off-campus housing.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is a good variety of off-campus dining places that are easily accessible through free public transportation or within a walking distance.

Administration: The only time I see the campus police interfering is when there is a theft or an assault. But then again, I don't live on campus, so I don't know what goes on in dorms, nor do I park on campus, so I don't know what happens in parking lots.

College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't really attend parties.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I have tried to receive financial aid, but got none.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are a few food options that aren't bad, but after a while you get bored of the same food. There is a wide variety that suits many food preferences of students.

College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus; I commute to school.
