Transportation in San Francisco can be summed up in one word: easy. Unfortunately, though, the words "slow," "expensive," and "dirty" can be thrown in there, too. Many commuters and students will tell you that the best thing about San Francisco is the availability to get anywhere you want in the city by using the Muni or also sometimes the BART (which is more expensive, but takes you outside of the city into Berkeley and other places). San Francisco State University is easily accessible by either of the two, making getting to class, and also leaving campus for a night on the town, simple.

The one true downside to the Muni is the price hikes. It’s really insane to purchase a $72 monthly pass. It’s a hard chunk of change for a college student, and the price is not always worth the frustration—always leave 30 minutes early because if you're taking the Muni, it will probably find a way to make you late. That being said, you wouldn’t want to miss out on all of the crazy things that happen on the Muni, like an old lady carrying a live chicken, crazy people, and fights that become YouTube sensations.
