It is very difficult to find a lasting relationship at San Francisco State. Many students come to the University already in committed relationships or often go back to date past friends from other campuses. Students will agree that while SFSU does sport a huge amount of gorgeous girls (many of them dark-haired and thin), the male spectrum is usually loaded with homosexuals or scruffy-looking ruffians. There may be no "typical student" on campus, but it is safe to say that women rule in terms of numbers and attractiveness. However, due to this, females often lose out because of the small number of men.

It may be hard to connect with a potential boyfriend or girlfriend due to SFSU being a commuter school, but stepping out for a night on the town is perfect to find new friends and dates.

Social Scene
Most students are looking for a heavy social life, but, as a commuter school, SFSU makes it hard to connect with students outside of class. But, boy, are students outgoing! You will meet all types of people, and as long as you find your "crowd," you're sure to have a good time. A lot of students are also very interested in fitness and health, so if you can, always find a ton of recreational activities and sports clubs to join. If that's not your thing, there are plenty of weekly parties around campus and at Parkmerced, as well.
Hookups or Relationships?
Both. Mainly, the students are couples, going to parties and such and cruising around. The rate of hookups at SFSU is a little less than what you would expect on a college campus, but don't worry-while there are a lot of relationships, most are not looking to settle down and get married.
Dress Code
Hipster. No doubt about it. Ripped clothing, tight jeans, leggings all year round. Girls make the most out of slouchy boots, and guys are almost always seen wearing Levis. While most students dress nicely and do not come to school in the "classic college" sweatpants and hoodies, it does happen from time to time.
