3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I had to take some night courses because they were not offered during the day. It was nice because they didn't interfere with my other classes, however, I got home quite late some days.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: I plan on transferring to a four-year university. The councilors and transfer center have been a big help on giving me the resources on what I need to do before I change schools.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My professors are more than just teachers, they also have worked in the industry and have current connections in working in the field I wish to go into.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Professors are very knowledgeable in the field. They use a variety of resources and techniques to give students the greatest opportunity to learn.

Academic Experience: My workload this semester isn't anything I can't handle. I turn my assignments in on time, attend my classes, and I work with my professors to make sure that I understand the material.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: I can't study at school, just because I like my own home environment to use as a study space. College is usually an independent study, but I don't mind the small circle of friends I have.

Overall Experience: I only plan to be at Miramar for two years so that I can earn my associates degree. I plan to take the summer off and take on a job for some extra money.

4 College Student

Academic Flexibility: My classes aren't a hassle. My classes aren't too far apart according to time and day, so I don't have too much of a gap, one hour at the most.

4 College Student

Career Services: Counselors are there to help assist you and keep you on the right track to graduating.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: My courses have been fun and enjoyable to learn. My professors have been patient and seem to care about the learning of their students.

3 College Student

Overall Experience: I wouldn't want my first job to be on campus, but the students that to do help out are doing great.

4 College Student

Academic Experience: It's hard work, but I have the determination for it.

Academic Experience: Being a business major at Miramar really weeds out students who are not dedicated or committed to the business field. With the fast paced curriculum, heavy workload, and tough tests/assignments, many people who believe that being a business major is "easy" or "safe" are sadly mistaken. Miramar's business classes have made me appreciate being a business major even more and has made me incredibly excited to find my niche in business.

The business facilities are very nice and accommodating at Miramar. Aside from an annual job fair, the business club offered at Miramar allows students to make connections with businesses around San Diego.

Overall Experience: Miramar is a great school that offers many opportunities for students of any age/career/background. I've seen stay at home moms going to Miramar to gain a better education, busy workers who aspire to get a degree and get an even better job, marines spending their free time taking classes, and fresh out of high school students who are going to Miramar as a way to transfer to a larger university. Miramar is a helpful tool to achieve your academic goals and enhance your skills by gaining a great education.

Academic Flexibility: Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at Miramar. The classes have been interesting, easy to sign up for, and are filled with fun classmates and knowledgable teachers. The curriculum is tough, fast-paced, and have pushed me to be a better and more committed student. At times it was hard to juggle work, school, and having a social life, but c'est la vie. My counselor and teachers have been helpful and made my experience at Miramar a great one.

Online Courses: When taking an online class, you just have to prepare yourself that you're kind of on your own. There is little to no interaction between classmates, which can make the course more difficult than a traditional classroom experience. The teacher is usually available and willing to answer questions, but it's not the same learning environment as a traditional classroom experience when you can be taught in a classroom and shown examples on a white board, rather than read the book by yourself.

The workload is very fast-paced and takes about a week to get used to. It is very easy to register for online classes, but space can fill up quickly. The professor/student relationship for online courses is a bit more standoffish than in a traditional classroom setting. But the professors tend to answer emails in a timely manner. Online courses at Miramar are convenient and perfect for students with a busy schedule who need a flexible class.

Career Services: The career center is not helpful, the alumni network is never mentioned, and job prospects aren't a main focus due to many Miramar students already having jobs.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Many classes are offered at Miramar College, and the few that are not offered at Miramar, are offered by Mesa and City colleges. All of the classes I need for my two-year plan at Miramar are available at Miramar and I was easily able to sign up for them with little to no trouble.

Courses are fast-paced, interesting, and beneficial at Miramar. I have better developed my skills by taking classes and I have learned more about the field of business from knowledgable and excellent teachers. Classes are small and range from 20-40 people on average. Most classes aren't completely lecture-based which is nice and call for student interaction and group time.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Miramar College has an annual job and career fair that is fairly large and brings in a handful of employers. But many students do not attend because the employers are smaller businesses and usually not well-known businesses. There is a career center offered at Miramar but the employees are not very helpful and just hand you a link to a website that shows job offerings. I'm not sure if there is an alumni network at Miramar due to it being a community college.
