Academic Experience: I am currently enrolled in the College Transfer program at Sampson Community College and have recently decided that I am interested in Nursing. The college transfer program is designed to help students who plan to transfer to a four year institution get the courses they need to transfer as a Junior. Individuals are getting the same education and taking the same courses as the individuals at a four year university. I love how my school offers a Nursing Aide course for students to take in order to figure out if Nursing is cut out for them. Once an individual finishes Nurse Aide the are allowed to take a test in order to become certified. Being certified allows you to get a job in a nursing facility or hospital working under a registered nurse. These are the opportunities that Sampson Community College is offering me to better my future.

Overall Experience: I am currently in my second semester at Sampson Community College and it has been great. The main reason why I think it has been great is because I am getting the same education as I would get at a 4-year university, for much less. The teachers really see you as an individual and not as just a number. They take the time to answer questions if you have any and don't mind working one on one with an individual. If I was a high school senior again, I would make the choice and go to Sampson Community College again. Starting off at a two year college has been a great transition for me and I would recommend other high school seniors to do the same.

Student Body: I made multiple friend within the first week

Online Courses: Sometimes the work is difficult to understand, but with the help of others then I understand it.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: There is no discrimination at this school most of the time. I have seen disrimination against a black student once before school started. Other than that, students are treated equally.

Career Services: You will be able to transfer with or without an associate's degree. There are certain fields in this college that are connected to companies and workplaces within the city. Sampson Community College is also connected to Fayetteville State University so that students can transfer there easily.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Sampson Community College has very good tuition rates that are not too expensive or overbearing. I feel like I am definitely getting my money's worth. The financial aid process is also very simply, and the financial aid office is great about working with each student in order to make sure he or she has the help he or she needs to be able to pay for tuition.

Campus Resources: The library and student center are both very nice and comfortable. The library has a great amount of resources needed for student studies and success. The student center is great for unwinding in between classes and catching up with friends. The ping pong tables in the student center are very popular among the students.

Campus Resources: The technology and resources at Sampson Community College are very up to date and easily accessible. I have never had any trouble with the network or the computers. Sampson Community provides every student with all the resources that he or she may need for success in and out of the classroom.

Campus Quality: I really enjoy how close everyone seems to be. It is not hard to make friends on the campus. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is not hard to build friendships at Sampson Community College. I have enjoyed being a student here for the past year, and I will miss the welcoming small-town feeling that is present on the campus after I transfer.

Campus Resources: The library is small, but has enough diversity book-wise. It also has an online directory for articles and research to peruse.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid process is very smooth, and the advisers are exceedingly friendly. There is a new adviser who will ask if you can sign your parents signatures though, so watch out!

Academic Experience: As this is a mere 2 year college, the majority of students here are either nursing, cosmetology, or Associate's in Arts students. It seems that the latter students are after-thoughts, but other than that I am happy with how the professors and staff treat us. The workload can be difficult if you do not parcel your time out properly, and the school offers tutoring jobs for those willing to try that. The buildings are rather old and shabby, but are kept clean and neat by the friendly janitors.

Overall and very cozy school to start your Associates degree in!

Academic Experience: This school is mostly focused on the Cosmetics and Nursing students. It seems that the rest of us are afterthoughts. There are the few professors that understand the students, and who are willing to go to great lengths to help us out. They try to make classes interesting and are open to classroom debates most of the time!

Keep in mind that this review portrays the professors who are there in person, not the long-distance ones.

Academic Experience: We have awesome teachers!!! I have been very happy with almost all of my instructors.

Academic Flexibility: The nursing department does not hold evening classes, but other than that...the classes are pretty flexible!

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Classes are offered in the morning, afternoon and evening. Various subjects, such as Psychology, English, Math, most sciences and other subjects are offered at various times. This flexibility allows those with specific schedules, the ability to take classes around their schedules. I am able to take all my classes during the morning and early afternoon hours, leaving my evenings free for other activities and studying. Teachers are also available at various times during the day and evening which allows for student/teacher interaction.

Student Body: There is a strong diversity of students at Sampson Community College. Students interact cohesively among one another and are often seen in multicultural groups either studying, having lunch, or just talking. I am proud to be a part of this school and the effort made by the administration to ensure students are treated fairly and without discrimination.

Online Courses: Having never taken an online course before, I was somewhat skeptical about how it would work with my regular academic schedule. The course is Environmental Biology, and though I would rather perform my labs in a real laboratory, the kit I was provided allows me to complete all the requirements in a timely manner. My instructor encourages her students to contact her via phone, e-mail, and face-to-face as often as needed. Students often work together to complete assignments, as well as study for tests. It has been a great experience and because I am good at pushing myself for excellence, I have no trouble with time management and completing my assignments on time or before. My online tests are completed two to three days before the deadline. I would consider taking other online courses if they fit my academic schedule.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: Various levels of social classes are here, though lower-class is the most dominate. The students usually are awesome (I made several friends right off the bat!), but as always, there are some ignorant ones who distract during class.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: The staff is friendly, but the teachers are so different and sporadic it is hard to keep up. Some teachers are disorganized, and rely only on lectures, but others actually make their class fun to attend.

The buildings are kind of old, but are relatively clean.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: My teachers are always available or they will schedule a time when their available to meet with you. The nursing department has a good system that helps registration go much faster. In the nursing dept the students normally stick together to study for test.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Computer lab have extra hours for those that have night class. The library is open from day until night. I love the availablity of the hours.
