There are computer labs across campus, with lab assistants on staff. Some of these labs are only for students in a specific major or for honors students, but there are some labs open to all students. These general-use labs are in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) building, Academic Building (AB) IV, and Newton Gresham Library.

Most SHSU students bring a personal computer; however, the computer labs still tend to get pretty crowded throughout the day, usually until 4 p.m., making it noticeable that more computers should be added throughout campus. One reason the labs get so crowded is that printing is free, so most students go to the computer labs to print things out instead of bringing or using their own printers. Tech support at SHSU is helpful most of the time, but tech support isn’t often needed because the computers and network on campus are reliable and seldom have issues.

Facts & Statistics
