3 College Junior

Administration: Not sure about any of the policies that the school has.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Sam Houston is a school that you can feel safe and comfortable attending. It's tobacco and drug free and the only alcohol that's allowed is in the room of someone who is 21 or older. Campus PD is very serious about drug use and underage alcohol use. They're not against searching dorms if they feel suspicious of something.

Administration: My dorm experience was good. I didn't get a creepy, horrible roommate lucky me. Though the walls of the dorms are thin and I hear a lot of "late night activities".

Administration: The campus strictness is viewed upon mostly if anything happens. Personally I haven't been affected by any of these problems so I think it is because the situation is under control.

Sam Houston is not as strict as it could be. Because the town of Huntsville is surrounded by prisons and jails, police are present and often show face. The two things students get in trouble for are drinking underage and parking in a place they are not authorized to park. Parking illegally has always been an issue because there are limited parking spaces.

As long as you respect others, others will respect you. SHSU believes in student feedback, so there are plenty of ways to get in contact with authorities if any problem arises. SHSU keeps the lines of communication open with its students, so as long as a person continues to better themselves and shape into a productive citizen, all remains well.
