4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Salve is a wonderful place with an energetic and comfortable environment. The professors, students, and other staff members make you feel welcome, happy, and enthused about every aspect of my college life.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love college and all of the people I've met. It is a great place to really figure out what you are interested in, without the pressures of high school drama. The size and nature of Salve in particular is what I love about it. Everyone knows everyone else and the faculty seems to have a genuine interest in the well-being of the students.

Off-Campus Housing: Its great if you can afford it and actually pay for a realtor to find you a house.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: If you play a sport you're all set you can find the sport houses, but if you don't then don't expect many parties.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Fast food places nearby and tons of restaurants in newport. Many are expensive though.

3 College Junior

Administration: It's really up to which RA you have. Many do not care about anything except maybe noise if you're throwing a party. But do not mess with parking, you will get a $50 ticket.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: Everyone gives miley a bad reputation but its really versatile and you can always find something to eat.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: Salve ended up cheaper that attending a state school with in state tuition.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Most of the housing is old mansions so everything is a little dated but beautiful.

Off-Campus Housing: Tons of seasonal homes empty up for the winter, so you have your pick. Some are craaaazy expensive, but others are affordable. You can do what you want with size, location, etc. depending on your budget.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Food during the week at the main d-fac is fantastic for a college. Alternate dining options are alright. On the weekend, however, it tanks.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: If you pick a school based on a party scene you are an absolute waste of [your parent's, I assume,] money. This school is fantastic for manageable, friendly, safe parties. Only a few sports teams will throw ragers fitted with keg stands and pong, otherwise it is the "ideal"--normal, friendly people drinking with others they know. No way!!

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: You couldn't find a better town for off-campus food. We are the only university and there are tons of very ritzy places that go low-key in the winter for fine dining, trashy pub food, take out, anything you could imagine.

5 College Freshman

Administration: Admin is incredibly friendly and genuinely cares. If you aren't doing anything stupid, they are there for you 100% and want you to have a great experience.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: Incredible endowment at this school; I received a lot of money that I almost didn't think I deserved because it was such a high percentage for the cost as compared to other schools. The amount of money you end up with is worthy of applying in itself. I pay less than a state school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: On campus housing is phenomenal. First year is average, but beyond that you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere that has better housing. You live in mostly apartments and homes that are massive and beautiful historic landmarks.

Off-Campus Housing: I have not experienced the off-campus living situation yet, but I will in the years to come! My friends that are upperclassmen have very nice places and love where they live. My sport captain lived in a house-apartment and had the best time! She was sad to leave because it was between campus and downtown and was an amazing experience.

Party Scene: There is not a true "party scene" at Salve. Since there is no Greek life, the sports teams throw the only "major parties." Everyone pretty much hangs out with everyone and there is drinking like every college. I like that there is no real party scene because we're here to learn and grow at college, not drink every night and party.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Downtown Newport is the best place to go for off-campus food! If you take the trolley downtown, then there are endless options of food to eat! There's an Orange Leaf, panini place, Brick Alley, Red Parrot, Panera Bread, etc. It just depends on what you're in the mood for and how much you want to spend.

5 College Freshman

Administration: The administration at Salve Regina University is there for each and every student. They truly care about the well-being of every one of us and enforce policies as they deem fit. They are always in the dining hall for lunch and converse with us about our days.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: Salve was very generous to me and my needs for financial aid. They were very nice and helpful through the entire process and were reliable. Whenever I had questions, they were quick to respond via email. They also were available to all students during university hours on campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Miley food is good, but I do agree that on the weekends there are not many delicious options other than brunch. You just have to plan accordingly, that's all. Compared to other colleges and universities, we have it very well!

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living at Salve is amazing! All you need to do is use your ID card to get around Downtown Newport and the entire state of Rhode Island for free! The freshman dorms are like any freshman dorms, and the options available for sophomores and upper classmen are wonderful! The best part about the campus is the location! The Cliff Walk is about thirty steps from the main academic building.

5 College Freshman

Administration: The administration is great, they aren't too strict because they understand what's going on in college dorms.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: From the houses I've been to there are many different options with beautiful houses and others that can be disgusting.
