Scholarships: Apply early for federal financial aid -- it's best to do it as soon as possible after January 1. Do as many campus scholarships as you can. Always call your financial aid advisor and ask questions if you're uncertain about your reward letter or application.

Scholarships: Financial aid was never a hassle to apply for.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I have been receiving financial aid from SXU since August, 2013 of my Freshman year. Since Saint Xavier is a private university, they are able to determine the specific amount of financial aid given to each student. This, fortunately worked in my favor. Because I come from a low-income family, I was able to receive a nice financial aid package that helped make my now two successful years possible. At the start of the fall semester of my Sophomore year, both of my parents became unemployed, and I was in need of an even bigger package. At first, there was only a small adjustment made to my financial aid package, but after talking with a specialist, I was able to complete both semesters of my Sophomore year, and I am currently enrolled for fall semester of 2015. Getting Financial aid was a truly humbling experience. It involved showing sincerity, both it definitely paid off.

Scholarships: It is okay because even though i have scholarships from St. Xavier and grant loans, I feel like I still have a lot of money to pay off! Even though I apply for FASFA every year, it doesn't help me much because they believe my parents make too much and are able to afford my tuition, which is it not very true.
