Overall Experience: The teachers don't teach and the atmosphere is very high schoolish

Administration: The people over there really care about me.

Scholarships: It's very simple! All I have to do is the FAFSA!

Off-Campus Dining: Most off the off-campus dining options are just fast food chains such as McDonald's or Popeyes. If I don't eat in the cafeteria, it's because I packed my own lunch.

Scholarships: Apply early for federal financial aid -- it's best to do it as soon as possible after January 1. Do as many campus scholarships as you can. Always call your financial aid advisor and ask questions if you're uncertain about your reward letter or application.

Campus Food: The hot entrees, salad bar, pizza, and sandwiches (in the cafeteria) are good. I rated 3/5 because the "grill" options are not good at all.

Off-Campus Dining: No student discounts but have more variety

Administration: Campus feels very safe and secure even at night

Scholarships: Financial aid was never a hassle to apply for.

Campus Food: Very limited options and inconvenient hours

Campus Housing: Housing in quads are very spacious and are close to classes. However, the cost is high and the options for dining is lacking. The upperclassman dorms lack a sense of community.

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus, they are a nice amount of restaurants in the vicinity. They are a few somewhat healthy options such as Potbelly, Subway, and Panda Express, and there are also unhealthy options such as McDonalds, Popeyes, and Portillos. The locations are very convenient, and the cost is reasonable. Though there isn't a student discount, the variety of options are worth the price.

Administration: Saint Xavier University is the perfect balance of strict and lenient. It is strict in terms of academics. The school wants to en-steel the right mind sets and priorities within the students. The school is also strict in terms of violence. Public Safety, our on campus police is on duty twenty-four/ seven to ensure the safety of the students. Any suspicious activities will be reported and handled immediately. However, the school manages not to interfere with the social lives of its students unless necessary. We are able to be students as well as regular young adults without judgements.

Scholarships: I have been receiving financial aid from SXU since August, 2013 of my Freshman year. Since Saint Xavier is a private university, they are able to determine the specific amount of financial aid given to each student. This, fortunately worked in my favor. Because I come from a low-income family, I was able to receive a nice financial aid package that helped make my now two successful years possible. At the start of the fall semester of my Sophomore year, both of my parents became unemployed, and I was in need of an even bigger package. At first, there was only a small adjustment made to my financial aid package, but after talking with a specialist, I was able to complete both semesters of my Sophomore year, and I am currently enrolled for fall semester of 2015. Getting Financial aid was a truly humbling experience. It involved showing sincerity, both it definitely paid off.

Campus Food: The food in the SXU dining hall is manageable. On an average day, there is a variety food, from healthy food such as soup, salad, and sandwiches, to fried foods such as chicken tenders and fries. They try to have something new each day. They also try to give a diverse option of food they sell daily. Though I appreciate the convenience of the diner, in my opinion, the best place to use meal plan is Gilhooley's. This is our off campus restaurant that students as well as other residents in the area go to for a good time. The food is amazing, the customer service is excellent, and there is always entertainment. It is the greatest value of food for the best prices.

Campus Housing: Living at Saint Xavier University is an amazing experience. It is like living in an entirely different atmosphere, which is great for a person who grew up in Roseland, which is a South side area in Chicago. Saint Xavier University is a great place academically as a well as socially. Though the price does not fit my financial standing, residing at SXU has great benefits. Each resident hall has a great social environment. Most residents, including student leaders mingle with each other in and outside of school. Going to class becomes a five minute commute. In addition, the housing process takes less than an hour and is very manageable. Overall, Campus Housing allows SXU students to get the full college experience in a safe and comfortable environment.

Health & Safety: I think the Health and Safety at St. Xavier is great because they are very caution and keep the campus clean and make sure we feel like a home; very comfortable

4 College Freshman

Athletics: What I have seen, is good results sometimes we don't have the same luck. but we strive to win and keep athletes focus in school and in their sport.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: It is okay because the school isn't completely isolated so it is easy to get around and buy food outside or inside school.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Public Safety is very helpful department for students! I am actually working for Public Safety and we have a huge responsibility just because we want our students to feel very safe and comfortable in our campus.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It is okay because even though i have scholarships from St. Xavier and grant loans, I feel like I still have a lot of money to pay off! Even though I apply for FASFA every year, it doesn't help me much because they believe my parents make too much and are able to afford my tuition, which is it not very true.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: I believe the food is really great at St. Xavier. They have Subway and Starbucks which I always get! It is very convenient and in the cafeteria they have various of type of food such as salad, burgers, wraps, yogurt, milk, drinks, bakery, and much more! Also vending machines located in different places!

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It is a great campus housing to be in because you feel really save and have a lot of fun. You meet new friends from different ages and public safety is always around for any help.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The school doesn't talk about sexual assault

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are very few off campus options. The majority of students just live at home and commute if they don't live on campus. Usually, the only people who actually live on campus are athletes or come from outside of the local area.
