Guys & Girls: Like students everywhere. Some are hardworking, serious and responsible. A percentage are immature, into partying.

Putting people into categories is not productive.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: We tend to have pretty intelligent people in general. However, the looks, interests, dress and social life vary widely across campus depending on what people are involved in (i.e. sports, greek life, religious groups)

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The guys are mostly wanting a casual hook-up not a long term commitment. The guys are pretty attractive some are really hot while others not so much. Most of them are generally nice and respectful of girls.

SLU students are friendly, welcoming people with diverse interests and involvement. Students easily find friends and significant others on residence hall floors, in classes, or through involvement in a student organization. There are more female than male students, but the ratio of guys and girls that students experience definitely depends on their major or involvement in specific groups.

Many students are in long-term relationships, and there are many marriages between SLU alumni. There are also tons of single students and many casual relationships between guys and girls. SLU is full of friendly, smart, and attractive people who are outgoing and willing to make new friends or try a new relationship.

Social Scene
SLU has a great social scene, whether you're looking for alcohol-involved or alcohol-free events. On campus, there are always weekend events sponsored by student organizations-dances, movies, concerts, trivia nights. You'll have to try hard to be bored. Off campus, there are always apartment parties or Greek events at local bars. With SLU's location in Midtown, there are literally hundreds of options for the weekend nights, whether you're looking to hang out with SLU friends or meet new ones.
Hookups or Relationships?
Generally, students are more interested in relationships, but hookups still occur.
Dress Code
SLU is a very casual campus. Girls are generally in jeans or casual dresses. Guys are in T-shirts, sweatshirts, polos, and jeans. You will occasionally see guys in suits in class for fraternity requirements, but you'll never see a girl dressed up in heels for class unless it's for a formal presentation. Sweatpants are worn by all students and are especially frequent in 8 a.m. classes.
