3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: it can be fun. Then again it can be like wow I need to move off campus.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: The greek life has become pretty big here lately. Everybody loves the greek and then you have those that's not greek and want to be apart of greek.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Everybody gets along with each other. The school is not a big school at all so everybody knows everybody. The campus life is fun there is always something to do on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics program. Is on a up rise in every sport. Every sport has good coaches in good players that all wants to win.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Health and safety is great at Leo. I always see security driving around and haven't heard of or experienced any major safety issues.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I've enjoyed most of my classes so far; some electives I feel are useless and a waste of my money though. I understand the schools intent of making us well rounded individuals with the university exploration classes, but honestly, most kids just BS their way through them and retain little knowledge on the subject.

Professors are caring, nice, knowledgeable, and fair. Great all around!

Class sizes are small, which I find attractive and more personable.

Classes in the newer buildings have access to more technology and those in the older buildings are sort of left to fend for themselves with little to no technology.

Campus Housing: I lived in Henderson for my freshman year, which is basically like a jail cell. The rooms are old and somewhat gross. It smells weird in the building and the bathrooms are gross. Maintenance staff is there cleaning daily, which is nice, but that doesn't make up for the fact that the facilities are just old and run down. The apartments on the other hand, are newer and much nicer, which is to be expected. I'm looking forward to living in an apartment next semester.

Athletics: I like the fact that Saint Leo does not have a football team to overshadow the other sports I feel like this allows students to be much more involved in all the other sports and attend the games to provide support. The small nature of the school makes team members and regular students very close and supportive of one another, which I think is a great quality! While the fields are nice, the gym is awful. It's too small and out of date; this and the locker rooms definitely need improvement.

Overall Experience: Saint Leo is a great university and I've enjoyed my first semester there. There's always activities going on to get people involved and numerous opportunities to advance oneself and education. The family atmosphere makes me feel like I matter and I'm not just a number. So far, my professors have been exceptionally great and I'm excited to return next semester.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

The overall experience at Saint Leo University is decent. You make friends, have fun, go to school, and live in the sun—although the small size does limit some of the resources normal college students have access to. There are no big football games with huge tailgating parties, and you won't see a big school band; nor is SLU the place for your typical social scene run by Greek life. The location is quaint, simple, and actually quite beautiful, but there just isn't a whole lot going on in the area. Yet, at the same time, you are only a 25-minute drive from the city of Tampa. Most students fall in love with the Bay atmosphere while they are here, and the roaring tourist economy of Orlando is only an hour away.

Your experience at this school will be greatly enhanced if you have a car. It's just not the place you can find everything you need within walking distance, and public transportation down here hardly exists. The school is small enough that you can get to know most of the people you will be spending your college career with, classes are not too difficult, and most the the professors really do care about how you perform. All in all, there is fun to be had at Saint Leo, but you may have to find it on your own. If you are the type of person that is outgoing and likes to create your own fun, then this school may be your place. If you're somebody that would rather sit back and let all the fun come to you, then I would suggest choosing a bigger school.
