5 College Junior

Overall Experience: For a small private school, you get what you expect. Small class sizes, professors that care, and wonderful students. there are students that come from all parts of the country and many come from different countries around the world. Because of the small size, there is a wonderful sense of community that lasts a lifetime. Alumni and those that know current and former Johnnies have nothing but good things to say about the character that makes a Johnnie. After a few years attending my beloved school, I can honestly say that I made the right choice. It's for all these reasons that I rarely leave this place to go home.

Overall Experience: My school is the best school ever. It has provided me with the opportunities and friends that I never thought were possible. I can't see myself at any other college and choosing to attend this college has been the best decision I've ever made.

1 College Senior

Campus Food: Expensive meal plans, you pay for more than 2 times the value you get

Most food is bland, not fresh, and unhealthy

1 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: School lets almost no one go off campus

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Just typical food available in small town

3 College Senior

Administration: Most dont seem to care, but a few really do try and make this school good

2 College Senior

Scholarships: Barely any money given, few opportunities, way too much hassle and not enough support

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Sex separated, not fun.

Great nature and outdoor scene.

Houses can be small and cramped

Many don't have AC

4 College Freshman

Administration: Life Safety can be a hassle sometimes, but as long as you don't act like an idiot, you're fine.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The greatest problems I had ever heard about were examples from other places.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: There aren't any full rides, but people seem to get by.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports have managed to find the perfect balance of being present without dominating any other aspect of human life.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: People are kind and respectful. Girls and Boys are referred to as Bennies and Johnnies, and that holds many traditions and emotional/social sensations for all who have spent a significant time there. I have yet to meet a place more filled with people of grace and good intent.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: The University is located on three lakes. Most of the campus is comprised not of buildings, but of a sweeping forest that dominates the rolling landscape. An unforgettable picture for anyone who has the opportunity to visit.

Athletics: Sports hold the right level of importance. They have a great atmosphere as a result, but aren't so big that I have to let the 7th string QB who showed up at my party ruin everyone's night. Everyone wants us to win, but athletes that are D-bags are still held accountable. Great culture.

Health & Safety: Never had or heard of an issue.

5 Recent Alumnus

Local Area: St. Joe and Collegeville are gems. St. Cloud nearby is a garbage bin, which leads one to appreciate where SJU is at all the more.

3 Recent Alumnus

Administration: They do what they have to, but they let "Life Safety" do a little to much as judge, jury, and executioner with a great deal of subjectivity.

5 Recent Alumnus

Party Scene: Anything can be going on anywhere anytime.

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: Way better than living on campus. The scumbags that own the off-campus stuff are worth dealing with for all the perks of having your own place.

3 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: No one can get a full ride, but smart, talented kids get an affordable price for an unmatched experience.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Typical administrative mess. Old buildings, horrible campus housing head, but otherwise great people making the best of an otherwise amazing campus.

5 College Sophomore

Local Area: Campus is on 3 lakes, and thousands of acres of wooded area and nature

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Winter months parties are fairly scares in town unless you know a house owner, holidays and campus events are usually big weekends though.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Great late night pizza that delivers to campus, and great sit down restaurants, along with a award winning sandwich shop.
