5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The campus is beautiful. The dorm rooms are extremely small, but there are plenty of places to get out and study or hang out with friends. There are tons of activities to involve just about everyone. If you want to do anything off campus, you definitely need a car, because there are no malls, restaurants, or activities within walking distance.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: Financial aid dept. is very slow.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: The gym open to the general student body is very subpar. Very little space to move. You almost always have to wait to use the bench and olympic bars.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Not many off-campus options. Lack of quality in both the houses and apartments that are available to rent.

1 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: No quality off-campus dining in the town of Loretto. A car is needed to go anywhere decent. Closest good food is thirty minutes away in Altoona.

2 College Freshman

Party Scene: Most parties are very low-key. Joining Greek life is a must if you want to party. Campus PD is quick to close down large parties.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The policy on drugs is strictly enforced. A number of students were promptly suspended for the semester after being caught with drug paraphernalia.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid staff rarely replies to my emails. Visiting the financial aid office was very unproductive. A more efficient and reliable staff is needed.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: Decent food is limited to the days that tours are scheduled. Other than days for visitors, the meals at Torvian are very low quality.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Very little social life on campus. The night life is limited to Fraternity parties and student organized events. Almost entirely a commuter campus.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus. Police make you download an app, (Rave) and you can press that button if you are in danger/uncomfortable, and they will come to you.

Greek Life: The greek life wants you to join their chapter, and they host a lot of events on campus.

Athletics: St. Francis is a D1 school, so there are lots of people that play sports from around the country and even from different countries.

Administration: I haven't had any trouble with campus police. Sometimes they are in the dorms at night to make sure everything is okay. If you have a leg injury they drive you to class, and if you are scared/uncomfortable, you can call them and they will walk you back to your dorm.

Campus Food: Frankie's is basically like a Sheetz. Torvian is far away from the female dorms, so in the winter it is a far walk. Also, with eating certain foods at Torvian, I get a bad stomach ache afterwards.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Being a freshman, obviously the dorm room is small, and there is a community bathroom. It is easy to get used to and you don't have to clean the bathroom! The only bad thing about my dorm (Agnes) is there is no kitchen (stove/oven, sink, etc) to make food, but all the over dorm have a kitchen.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of off campus apartments. All are close to school.

Off-Campus Dining: Loretto is in the middle of nowhere. There is one small pizza place off campus. They owners of that restaurant are amazing people.

Scholarships: The financial aid is great. I had to attend another year because of changing majors and my scholarships were extended for that additional year. The school is expensive, but the education is worth it.

Party Scene: The parties are safe and fun. DJ is always loud and has the most current songs.

Campus Food: The staff are great and intent on serving their best food. I once had cheesy bread sticks that was made poorly. The staff make sure that I wasn't forgotten and made a new batch right away. Frankies is great, lots of food choices, always fresh. Torvian has the best cafeteria food I have ever eaten. Always fresh and always something to eat.

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: It became my second home because of the family atmosphere it portrays. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would. Everyone is guaranteed a dorm during their undergraduate program/degree which is unheard of. Dorms are average size.

5 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: if you get bored with the campus food which you should'nt there's always off campus dining and you can dine out or pick up your favorites

4 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: this keeps things interesting and lets you have fun outside the school life and workplace

Saint Francis University has its strengths and its weaknesses, but the flaws of the University are tremendously outweighed by the assets. Some buildings may be outdated, but state-of-the-art renovations are constantly being made around campus to ensure that it is always exciting and accommodating. Saint Francis is a small, rural university, but every aspect of the school itself is outstanding.

The strong sense of community is what draws students to Saint Francis and keeps them attached throughout their college experience. Students say they are completely comfortable at Saint Francis, and they truly feel like the University community is their home away from home. The relationships among students, faculty, and administration are strong and unique. Everyone who works at the University is extremely passionate about their jobs and greatly dedicated to helping the students succeed. There are countless opportunities for student engagement at Saint Francis, like impressive academic programs, active student organizations, exciting study abroad options, and remarkable job placement opportunities.
