3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: From personal experience it is very hard to find an apartment. They fill up quickly so you really need to be on your game. I think that they pick seniors and juniors over incoming sophomores so that makes it difficult also.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of different places to go and eat. I could not imagine someone not finding what they want!

3 College Freshman

Administration: I believe that it depends on the individual officer. Some officers are very strict with the drinking and drugs but others act like it. no big deal.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I had a unique situation. I was an independent student so i had to prove that i was supporting myself which was a serious hassle.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: I really enjoy the dining hall because of all the different students that accumulate there. The food is good but the atmosphere really makes it.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: SCSU has so many different activities and events happening everyday. It is so easy to find something to keep you busy!

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live at home with my parents but I know there is plenty of off-campus housing available near campus. Often the quality of this housing is average/poor. That is generally expected in a college town.

Off-Campus Dining: Lots of chains in St. Cloud but if you know the area really well (I grew up here) you can find the hidden gems.

Administration: I don't experience any problems with administration personally. I think having stricter policies wouldn't hurt SCSU and may affect the dominant party college atmosphere here which would be nice. Many students at other colleges in the state might look at SCSU as somewhat of a joke or very "easy" because of the party culture which just isn't true. Just talk to any Biomedical Science or Nursing major (just to name a couple).

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: There is minimal work involved in basic financial aid applications. The scholarship website is well laid out and the office is easy to work with.

Party Scene: SCSU is a known party school. I do not participate in the culture.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: I don't have a campus meal plan but buy food on campus often. No access to Garvey.

Greek Life: I do not know much about the fraternities or sororities.

4 College Senior

Athletics: With Hallenbeck Hall pretty much dedicated to their sports, SCSU has a great athletics department. The have many activities for students to participate in for free!

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I do live off campus, but I do not live in off campus housing so I would not know the answers to these.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: SCSU is close to "downtown St. Cloud" as a result, there are many bars and restaurants there. However, downtown St. Cloud is not right next door. It is close but far enough that you would have to take a bus

3 College Senior

Administration: It is kind of hypocritical. Some things that you would never guess should be strict, are, yet some things that obviously need to be enforced strictly, have little to no punishments/consequences.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: I am a PSEO student at SCSU therefore I get my schooling and books paid for since I am still considered a high school student.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: Personally, I do not have a meal plan. I have heard nasty things about GARVEY, but I cannot judge it myself. I frequently get food in the basement of Atwood.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: St. Cloud State University is a fine campus. I have participated as a cast member of one of the Theater department's productions. The Theater department there is greatly under appreciated. With this coming to my attention, I am sure that other programs are under appreciated there as well. However, the university does provide way for many campus groups and ministries which is very nice.

5 College Senior

Majors: All applicants have to have 2 letters of recommendation, then they undergone a faculty interview, after that the student is usually accepted into the major and is allowed to enroll in special classes with their 'cohort' which is a group of students taking all the same courses required for the program.

4 College Senior

Academics: Overall, the academics are great! There are a few bad teachers, but overall most enjoy teaching. The registration process is fairly simple, however classes do fill up quickly. The most popular study areas are in Atwood, the library, or the 2nd floor of the Education building.

5 College Senior

Academics: I LOVE the social work program! The professors are amazing and I have an amazing cohort. The workload isn't too much, as long as I keep a master schedule of when assignments are due. I also enjoyed completing my 60 hour internship! There are a lot of opportunities in this major!

5 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There is a very diverse student body. There are very beautiful people along with average looking girls and guys. Some people wear designer clothes, but most wear whatever they feel comfortable wearing. There is an excellent social life.
