Rutgers University.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Tuition is climbing, the advisors are robots, there is little guidance available but fortunately the excellent professors make up for a lot of the inequality between the administration and the students.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Partying is abundant but if that's not your scene there are plenty other things for you to do.

3 College Junior

Athletics: everyone is really upbeat, however, the school makes out athletes to be the biggest stars.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are a ton of courses offered at Rutgers. As well as the majors that can be chosen. Most of the classes seem quite interesting and my experience with them are that they are well put together. Professors know what they are talking about and if a student has trouble they will help the student out. I think that is what makes it great is that professors are willing to stop teaching and take time out to help someone who does not understand.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I think Rutgers is a great school. A degree from it has a value given it is not like Harvard or Princeton but it still has its own value. That being said since it is such a large university which means that there are a lot of people to meet which means there will be a lot of people to also help you out. I hear the career centers are great so when I need to go to them I will.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There is some crime on campus such as robbery or attempted assault but security and police do a good job at preventing that. They are always on top of it and students get a text or email right away when there is crime. I feel safe walking around campus alone whether it be early morning or late night.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Campus housing is pretty good. It has a lot to offer from vending machines to air conditioning which can be control from your room. Everyone is friendly and it is easy to talk to the RA's and other people. It is close to dining hall or the recreation centers. But some of it does require taking the university buses but once you ride them a few times, it gets pretty easy.

The courses are tough at Rutgers. TAs mainly don't speak English, and you can never find a parking spot. However, despite these things, after the first week of your freshman year, you realize Rutgers is different than other schools. Diversity is definitely something that makes Rutgers stand out-the friends you will meet at Rutgers will make you realize that you like Indian music and Persian food, and
you'll go to friends houses during their Jewish holidays. Students will learn to live with all different people, despite different backgrounds, and smile and laugh the nights away in the dorms.

It is a very large university, and professors won't realize or care if you are failing a course. However, students remark that they wanted to attend a large university because it makes them grow up. At Rutgers, no one holds your hand as you pick courses (and there's 4,000 to choose from), and they don't make sure you are taking the courses necessary for your major. Everything is done by the actions of the students. If you want real life experiences instead of a college resembling your high school, you'll find it here.
