Overall Experience: Rutgers really is what you make of it; it provides all of the tools necessary to really have a good time and make memories while also getting a quality education, but if you never leave your room and don't talk to anyone or join any clubs you will quickly find yourself really miserable. The classes tend to remain small for the more focused course but lectures can be upwards of 100 students, but both types of classes are run very well. The professors are generally very friendly and willing to help and meet with you personally. The amount of school pride is really great, especially during football season, it creates a very positive environment.

Campus Housing: The dorms are pretty much the average dorms that you would see on any college campus, some of the bigger problems is that a lot of the public spaces inside the dorms are outdated and not very well-maintained in terms of cleanliness.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Their parties are okay, but their achievements charity-wise aren't as focused on as they probably should be, considering the sororities and fraternities do generate a lot of funds for various charities. All in all they do provide a positive and upbeat presence to the campus.

Athletics: There's a lot of school spirit generated by the sports teams and they overall have a lot of fan support, student and non-student. The athletic facilities are kept very clean and nice. Some of our teams performed poorly this past year, but overall we have a very good athletic system.

Overall Experience: Rutgers provides plenty of opportunities to meet people and make friends while also getting a worthwhile education. I leave my classes really feeling like I learned something that will help me when I start looking for a job.

Health & Safety: There are many helpful health centers.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are many things to do on campus and many ways to find where you fit in.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The school provides you with opportunities to learn about post grad options and there are many things to do.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There are many opportunities to build relationships in the dorm, but I personally wanted to branch out, as I did not enjoy the community I lived in.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There are many options on campus to join different fraternities and sororities.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics are highly focused on, but a lot of money would be better spent on academics, in my opinion.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are many opportunities on campus and many resources to foster the academic and social lives of students.

Health & Safety: While New Brunswick is completely a college town, it is also a city. While the police are available to walk a student at any time and safety blue lights are around, it is best to always use the buddy system.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The campus offers a variety of classes to appeal to any student, we have classes from dinosaurs and Beyonce to the highest calculus you could think of and organic chemistry. Most professors really want a student to succeed and are passionate about what they teach, however you have to meet them halfway and so that you are proactive in your own education in seeking the help that is needed to become successful.

General classes then to be bigger and an elective or more specified course, however there is not much difference honestly. The difference? Maybe the professor doesn't know your name, but if a student continuously reaches out to them and goes to office hours, then there is networking going on in that time and a relationship being built.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Rutgers offers so many resources to help get a job or internship! Every semester a career fair is held, and sometimes more than one is held a semester. Careers services also offers help with job listings, as well as resume and interview help.

Since jobs and internships can be used for credit, an academic advisor is a great resource and so can be academic based clubs.

Campus Housing: The housing process gets more difficult as the years go on and you get older. There are limited apartments, so they are very competitive and dorms are only okay depending on where you live. If living in a special housing community, only the are more amenities offered, however most dorms remain with out air conditioning. They cost is extremely expensive and regardless of year, if still living in a dorm a meal plan is required which continues to add to the price.

Greek Life: I may be a little biased personally as I myself recently went through the rush process this past semester. As the typical cliche saying that is always said "It is the best thing I have ever done!", but I truly mean it. While greek life has its part at Rutgers, it isn't the end of the word if you don't go through rush. Greeks and non greeks alike don't view each other any differently, and at Rutgers many are friends with one another no problem. Greeks do make themselves known, by the endless tabeling they do in order to fundraise and of course in the evenings for the social aspects, however at the end of the day everyone is respecting of each other.

Athletics: With Rutgers University becoming a part of the B1G 10 just recently, there has been an increase of viewers for the games. Football is the top sport, however there is so much room for improvement all around including fan support and school spirit. After attending a football game at Penn State, which is a huge football school, it showed me how much more students could do as a Rutgers community. I am sure it goes hand in hand fans and a team, but win or lose students and fans should be supporting our school!

Overall Experience: It seems redundant being at Rutgers University, but it is the diversity that makes it extremely unique! I have been going on college tours since the seventh grades and I have never seen so much culture and diversity than I have at Rutgers, although the rest claimed that they had it. The school allows for so many opportunities to get involved and can be very hands on. We have our very own far, and I gain so much experience in relation to my major just by helping out there! I absolutely fell in love with my school, and it has not changed since I have gotten here.

Greek Life: Greek life offers a wide assortment of opportunities and leadership positions, so in this case, I would say great. There are also dozens of greek life organizations to choose from.

The courses are tough at Rutgers. TAs mainly don't speak English, and you can never find a parking spot. However, despite these things, after the first week of your freshman year, you realize Rutgers is different than other schools. Diversity is definitely something that makes Rutgers stand out-the friends you will meet at Rutgers will make you realize that you like Indian music and Persian food, and
you'll go to friends houses during their Jewish holidays. Students will learn to live with all different people, despite different backgrounds, and smile and laugh the nights away in the dorms.

It is a very large university, and professors won't realize or care if you are failing a course. However, students remark that they wanted to attend a large university because it makes them grow up. At Rutgers, no one holds your hand as you pick courses (and there's 4,000 to choose from), and they don't make sure you are taking the courses necessary for your major. Everything is done by the actions of the students. If you want real life experiences instead of a college resembling your high school, you'll find it here.
