4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: They have on site nurses and free sexual disease checks

Campus Housing: The fee is $200 I feel you don't always get the roommate you want and everything is first come first served it takes a while to know if you were able to get housing or not

Overall Experience: I feel the school is great but it's somewhat okay only because of the area it's in. It's dangerous at night but if you travel with a buddy it's cool. The area is nice to explore new things and it's like a mini version of New York which is great cause I was born there. Also I don't like the way they have the term bill set up its kind of messy and they don't give you enough time to come up with the money.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I never pictured myself at Rutgers because I thought it was too big of a school. However, after visiting and seeing not only how diverse the community is, but how the community stands with one another in building a rapport with everyone, it was extremely reassuring that this was the school for me.

Campus Housing: This is my first time dorming and it is in an apartment suite style with three other girls. Based upon the form I completed, I would say that Rutgers is very in tune to pairing students correctly in living quarters. All of my roommates are extremely friendly and we have already met up a few times before school has started.

Greek Life: I've never been interested in the Greek life, so I am not sure as to their roles or involvements in any activities.

Athletics: I'm not a student who participates in sports, however, once again, this being my first time attending this school, all of the facilities look extremely clean, well attended, and organized.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I expected way smaller rooms for first year dormers but it was pretty great and spacious. More than enough room for me and my roommate and it was really clean.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I would like to join a fraternity. I'm not sure which one yet.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I don't know much about the sports because I don't play sports but the gym seems nice.

4 College Freshman

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The campus atmosphere is inviting and encouraging

Greek Life: Greek life isn't really existent at my school. I think we only have about fifteen (I might be pushing it) fraternities and sororities and only about six or seven fraternities have houses. We do have some events hosted but the Greek life. For example, those shows where they present all the Greeks on campus and probates. Some do charities and have fun raisers for certain things, but students don't pay attention to it and/or they don't know about it. Non-greeks are really indifferent to Greeks. If you are in one, then that is good for you. Most Greeks usually hang out with each other since it's a brother or sisterhood. The prescence of Greek life needs to grow.

Athletics: Athletics is not a big thing at Rutgers Newark. We are a D3 school and we do not have a football team, so sports isn't really payed attention to by the students. No one comes out to support or schools games. And we don't have much school spirit. I don't think that we would have to funding to get a football team, but if we could have more events and pride/spirit programs, I think students will be more invested in athletics.
