3 College Student

Campus Housing: It all depends on personal preference but I don't love them

3 College Student

Athletics: Not the most beautiful facilities but they serve their purpose..

3 College Student

Overall Experience: So far it's all been good, but some teachers have their expectations up there, like reading 3 chapters in less than a week.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: School has been good to me so far. It is in state so it is the cheaper option and has a good reputation. The dining services need improvement. Less resources need to be funneled into the New Brunswick campus and more into the Newark one.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Saying that you went to Rutgers is always a solid choice. Many people from all over come here.

Health & Safety: Newark isn't the best city, but the campus is safe. I hear very little about people being scared to walk out at night, unless it is a very far distance.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Got housing pretty easily and everything so far has been up to standard. Renovation is currently ongoing so they at least care about the quality of the facilities.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Seems like the Greek Life could be a little larger but its most likely because Newark is not the main campus.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Rutgers has a very good athletic program and the facilities are great.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have only attended orientation at Rutgers Newark but so far everyone seems extremely friendly. I look forward to attending!

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The stereo types of the big state school don't necessarily apply here. We constantly break the fourth wall with administrators and staff. Debates and dicussions breakthe discomfort some students may feel about different ethnicities and generally the entire student body works as a global society

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I'd like them to advertise themselves a little beter. also, actively work to help us get the careers we would like

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Considering the city we are surrounded by, it is amazing how crime is relatively diverted. The Rutgers community is also committed not only to fighting crime but the reasons crimes exist (poverty, wealth inequality, poor education, crumbing infrastructure)

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: I haven't stayed in awhile but I visit often. Once again, the diversity of the school is the biggest benefactor here. Excellent choosing process as long as you move fast and enough room to store Seton Hall students when seton hall accepts too many students... (YES, THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED)

3 College Junior

Greek Life: It's alright. Not as prominently featured like other colleges and universities. Very low-key table events and recruiting is definitely on the low side.

4 College Junior

Athletics: The students and athletes have great working relationships... You won't see the athletes slacking in class. Whereas Rutgers New Brunswick has students that are a mixed bag, Rutgers Newark has students and student-athletes consistently looking to further their education academically and physically as well. Our athletes and debate team are ranked high in colleges sports rankings. The facilities are opento all students regardless if you go to New Brunswick, Newark, or Camden which is a huge plus

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: While not entirely the best, the teachers all for the most part are deeply engaged and passionate about the things they teach. Students benefit from each other's diverse backgrounds. Rutgers Newark is the most diverse campus in the United States according to the census bureau. We also benefit from a community that gets to directly interact with students. The relationship between the citizens of the City of Newark and Rutgers University is mutually beneficial

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: They have on site nurses and free sexual disease checks

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The fee is $200 I feel you don't always get the roommate you want and everything is first come first served it takes a while to know if you were able to get housing or not

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I feel the school is great but it's somewhat okay only because of the area it's in. It's dangerous at night but if you travel with a buddy it's cool. The area is nice to explore new things and it's like a mini version of New York which is great cause I was born there. Also I don't like the way they have the term bill set up its kind of messy and they don't give you enough time to come up with the money.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I never pictured myself at Rutgers because I thought it was too big of a school. However, after visiting and seeing not only how diverse the community is, but how the community stands with one another in building a rapport with everyone, it was extremely reassuring that this was the school for me.

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: This is my first time dorming and it is in an apartment suite style with three other girls. Based upon the form I completed, I would say that Rutgers is very in tune to pairing students correctly in living quarters. All of my roommates are extremely friendly and we have already met up a few times before school has started.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I've never been interested in the Greek life, so I am not sure as to their roles or involvements in any activities.

5 College Junior

Athletics: I'm not a student who participates in sports, however, once again, this being my first time attending this school, all of the facilities look extremely clean, well attended, and organized.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have just begun my experience at Rutgers Newark, and not only is the staff extremely approachable and helpful, but the students are extremely friendly and a breathe of fresh air. It is a school full of diversity where change is always welcomed.
