2 College Junior

Campus Food: The cafeteria does not have a lot of options, and most of them are pretty unhealthy. There are barely any restaurants or cafes around campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: In Newark, there is a lot of cheap housing near campus, but it doesn't seem very safe. If you travel a bit farther, Hoboken, Jersey City, Weehawken, and Union City are still near enough by train/bus but much nicer with a lot more to do.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are not many restaurants near the campus. There's a pizza place and a subway. If you go a little farther there's this place called the Green Chicpea which is really good.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I had no problems with the financial aid office. They took care of everything for me quickly.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It is the either the same price or cheaper then dorming.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I love Sahara's food its really great and not as expensive as the other restaurants.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Sometimes I feel like they are more strict on things that they shouldn't be and more lenient on things that they shouldn't be

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: Make sure you keep calling them and going because the financial aid process at Rutgers really sucks.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The surrounding restaurants are really great and the food trucks as well

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love the atmosphere, it's very enticing and cozy.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports don't seem to play a huge roll in this campus. I think sports are more of a Rutgers New Brunswick thing, or at least it's seems more popular there.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I would say the only good places would be if you venture out to the Ironbound section. There's a great variety of Portuguese, Brazilian, and Spanish cuisine.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: We have an open campus which is nice to have in a city like Newark, however it has it's downsides. Homeless people go in and out of buildings to utilize facilities, leaving them filthy and disgusting. This define lay poses a threat to our health and saftey. I've had a number of bad experiences on campus due to these factors. I would like for something to be done about it.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I have no complaints about the financial aid process with Rutgers. Everything can be done online including additional payments when financial aid doesn't cover everything.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: I don't have a meal plan. So I pay out of pocket whenever I need to eat something. However all the surrounding restaurants are horrible including the food trucks. On top of being horrible its expensive. Sometimes I rather just go hungry until I get home.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I dont do off campus hosing so I can't really comment

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The cost of off-campus dining is sometimes too much

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Although financial aid was a hassle for me due to personal reasons, you get assistance. If you have a balance on your term bill that you can pay, you can apply for an appeal and get additional funds if it available. And the additional fund is not a loan, its a grant. Therefore, you are not paying anything back.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I dont really party much

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food in Stonsby is horrible. Students pay too much to eat poor quality food. It isn't fair that Rutgers Newark Funding goes to Rutgers New Brunswick because they are the main campus. We are here and we exist too. We too are humans, and we should be treated as such. It is disappointing and takes away from the college experience. Often times students have to go into their own pockets to purchase food. That money that we used to purchase food could be going towards school expenses such as books But we have no other chose but to.

Campus Housing: Campus life is convenient during bad weathers and moments when classes begin at 8:30. There are various activities on campus, which makes it fun. However, the cafeteria food isn't too great. The food sometimes makes students sick. Also, students have witnessed rodents crawling around where we eat.

3 College Senior

Majors: I don't have a concern on an internship right now, my job is related to my field.

3 College Senior

Administration: There should be more security around the campus and being watchful on who is coming on campus. There shouldn't be any reason why strangers are being let into buildings which we are paying tuition for.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: Most people head over to frat row where 2 or 3 frats will be having a party. Others will head over to McGoverns, Nizis, or Kill Kennys.

2 College Senior

Athletics: There is very little school spirit at Rutgers Newark. Most people are commuters and go home after classes are over.
