Campus Housing: I am so fortunate to have been able to experience living on campus all four years and throughout different housing complexes. The housing office is ALWAYS a hassle, if you have any issues then it is difficult to get someone to take you seriously without having your parent present.

Campus Housing: My freshman year dorm was in Willow Hall. Its probably one of the nicer freshman halls. My floor was entirely female, which I didn't mind. Floormates were incredibly entertaining and all became very close, fast. My roommate is now one of best friends. Our floor lounge became the place to be, and when you would come back from class you would look in there first to see who was around. We didn't just stay in our rooms all day we made an effort to spend time with each other. The cleanliness was average as the cleaning ladies did a good job but honestly couldn't handle all the girls, so the bathroom was a little gross. It is definitely more expense than it should be to live there as the building is really old but overall was a good and real college-style experience

Campus Housing: The housing at Rowan University features many different housing options. You can select anything from dorms and apartments, to town-houses and houses. Rowan University is always constructing new buildings to accommodate the growing student population.

Campus Housing: The dorms are your average dorms. Some are nicer and some are a little on the older side. Holly Pointe is one of the nicest dorms I have ever seen, though. The social atmosphere is great as there is always something going on and everybody is friendly and accepting

Campus Housing: Way too expensive in some buildings. They make it way too difficult to pay for the bundle of tuition and all of the rest.

Rowan’s housing situation leaves much to be desired, and unless you are in the townhouses, staying in campus housing is far from living in the lap of luxury. However, this doesn’t mean that the dorms on campus are unlivable, they just aren’t glamorous or anything. With regards to freshman dorms, Evergreen and Willow are the most desirable places to live due to their modernized feel and coed floors. However, Chestnut, Mullica, and Mimosa halls are great for inter-floor mingling despite the fact that the floors are split by gender. All resident students are governed by residential advisers. A position not for the faint of heart, RAs are special individuals. Some RAs can have hang-ups that will make your living experience at Rowan more of a struggle, but there are also RAs who are terrific with great attitudes and a great ability to help students.

The housing lottery experience at Rowan is definitely ulcer-inducing. Where you live for the upcoming year could depend solely on whether your random time slot is desirable or not. However, Residence Life consists of some of the most hospitable people you will ever meet—they will do everything in their power to accommodate as many students as possible, something that’s not always done at other colleges.
