Campus Food

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Dining options need to be wider for students to choose from because the few choices can become tiring to eat from occasionally especially for a freshman without a car.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: A lot of food choices esp for people with any diet restrictions. I am vegetarian and my friend was gluten free and vegetarian but we always found something to eat whatever time of day it may be.

2 College Junior

Campus Food: The places downstairs in the student center aren't horrible if you need something quick. The cafeteria has a bunch to choose from but you have to be careful when you go because they have times where there's pretty much nothing out in between "meal times" and that can last for awhile.

1 College Student

Campus Food: Only reason why I have a meal plan is because my parents made me and so did the school (it's required for residents). You're better off eating out at Wawa every night.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The downstairs caf is usually very good, but the service is extremely slow at certain places. The upstairs caf is okay, but the food at the global stand is sometimes unrecognizable as to what it is. I feel that they should be giving us more quality food considering the fact that we pay a lot of money to eat there, and freshman are required to purchase a meal plan. The food is also generally unhealthy, and I think it would be appreciated if there were more healthy options available.

Rowan University has a contract with Sodexo Food Services, which does a pretty good job. With nine different locations where students can go to eat, Rowan’s biggest strength when it comes to dining is its variety. The Marketplace, which is the main eating spot, has different stations to suit any needs—the buffet-style eatery features Asian, an American grill, and an Italian station where pizza is made fresh, not heated from frozen boxes. The food isn’t bad at any of the stations, and because there are so many different places to eat, the lines are never unbearable—that is, not until late when Prof’s Place is the only open eatery.

If it is 12:30 a.m. and you find yourself hungry after an exhausting night of studying, chances are you will go to Prof’s Place because it’s the only place open from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. During those times the lines are generally unbearable at Prof’s Place—no exaggerating. When the lines are backed up, it generally takes a good 20 to 30 minutes for a meal that is made to order. That being said, the dining staff are some of the best people on campus.
