3 College Sophomore

Administration: I haven't had too many experiences dealing with the administration since I live off campus and the dorm rule breaking things don't apply to me. I've only interacted with campus security once when they drove me to class when I had a broken ankle. They were nice enough.

3 College Student

Administration: I got a $200 ticket for taking a piss behind a tree nowhere near the road. the cops watched me and then followed me into the lot and basically caught me with my fly down. Between the town and campus police expect a ticket because its gonna happen.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Any alcohol or illegal substances found being used my minors will experience punishment, usually suspension or explosion. Also, cops are everywhere all the time trying to find kids walking around with open containers. Depending on your RA, either very strict or lenient. I've heard of RA's that drink with students and RA's who hear noise through the wall and write students up.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I am a commuter and don't have much interaction with them. However my ID was stolen and someone spent money from my meal plan. They were no help in getting my money back. On the Rowan Card page online it says another student using someone else's card will be responsible for the purchases they made. They didn't enforce that policy. Someone got away with using my card (even though it had my picture on it) and I am out about $20.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Administration helped a hell of a lot more than Financial Aid did, I'll tell yah that much.

Rowan is pretty lenient about the rules when it comes to misdemeanors. However, if a student actually commits a crime on campus, they are dealt with—as they should be. Overall, though, Rowan doesn’t have too many rules, and of the rules that do exist, most of them are enforced because they contribute to campus safety and security, which is a great thing.

For the most part, campus security understands that kids will be kids. However, if serious issues do occur, the RoPo will certainly crack down. But while Rowan isn't the strictest of campuses, drugs and alcohol are not tolerated in dorm rooms and campus apartments. If you fancy the occasional breaking of a small rule, you will find a comfortable existence at Rowan. And, in general, a student’s individual experience with strictness will depend greatly on the leniency—or lack thereof—of his or her RA.
