3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It is not my school of choice, but I have enjoyed my time there. I hope to continue my education there.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Although Roosevelt is a good school, I feel that at other highly regarded Universities I would be more eligible to get a better, higher paying job after graduation.

Health & Safety: Our admins make sure we are educated about this subject

Campus Housing: Campus housing is clean and very new.

Greek Life: I do not take part in Greek life.

Athletics: I do not take part in sports.

Overall Experience: I have enjoyed attending my school thus far.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Attending Roosevelt University is challenging and rewarding.

Overall Experience: Overall, Roosevelt University isn't much different than any other small university. I enjoy my classes, but I feel disconnected from the student life as not many students participate in it. I appreciate the smaller class sizes. It is a great place to learn, but it is not the Disney World of universities.

Overall Experience: Departments are constantly forwarding internship opportunities to students, and the career services are extremely helpful. There are also job opportunities on campus that connect students with Roosevelt Alumni in the effort to strengthen alumni relations. I have not experienced much of the job hunting aspect as I am only an incoming sophomore, but I have seen that there are many avenues for job opportunities after graduation.

Health & Safety: The security system to get into the school is tight, which makes being in the building more comfortable. Students are also required to attend seminars on campus safety and Title Nine. I do feel safe inside the building, however as a woman, there is no such thing as being too prepared. I do not travel to the laundry facilities alone, especially at night, because a woman was sexually assaulted in the middle of the night in the laundry room during my first semester on campus. The perpetrator was swiftly expelled from campus. The school takes safety very seriously, handles situations very quickly, and there are multiple avenues a student can reach out to for help. Overall, I feel comfortable at Roosevelt University, knowing there are teams in place if something were to every happen to myself or anyone else.

Campus Housing: (This review is for the Wabash Building dormitory and does not apply to Roosevelt University's other residence option, the University Center.) Living in the Wabash Building is beautiful. The view from the floor to ceiling windows in every room was beautiful, from every side of the building. The halls were kept clean and rules were enforced in a way that didn't feel overbearing by the residence advisors. However, the dorm food was nothing to write home about, which was disappointing. While there were four stations to choose from, only one regularly offered new options. Oftentimes, it was a struggle to eat healthy without eating the exact same salad or wrap every day. The junk food options were endless, but students who hope to eat healthy have much less options. Also, the weekend hours were less than favorable for students staying up late or who held jobs off campus, as the cafeteria closed at 7 pm.

Greek Life: The presence of Greek Life is scarce at Roosevelt University. There are many two fraternities (both co-ed), and one sorority (females only) on campus, and they are not exclusive or popular, as one might imagine Greek Life to be. Those who participate in Greek Life are either residents of the two dormitories or commuters, as there is no special residence for Greek students. Those who do participate in Greek Life and those who do not are completely indifferent to each other, as it does not impact student life as a whole.

Athletics: The athletics department is mostly ignored by the rest of the student body. Roosevelt University is a very liberal arts school, and students care more about the Chicago College of Performing Arts or things going on outside of school in Chicago than Roosevelt's athletic program. Truly, during my time living in the dormitory, the only people I knew that cared about the sports teams were the athletes themselves.

Overall Experience: Roosevelt University prides itself on being a diverse school with a deeply rooted social justice mission, however that mission and sense of community is somewhat lost in translation. Most students keep to themselves, student life is small and often the only participants are dormitory residents and freshmen. Additionally, the counselors and staff in financial aid are less than helpful. During the Fall 2015 semester, multiple students noticed their scholarships and grants were suddenly taken out of their accounts without explanation, and even more were told if they could not pay the rest of their tuition they would be dropped from classes. The situation took months to fix and financial aid advisors had little to say to anyone about where their thousands of dollars went. The classes are great, the professors are highly educated and compassionate, but the administration does not have the student's best interest in mind.

Overall Experience: I love being a student at Roosevelt University. The teachers and staff there are invested in making sure every students have all the tools they need to succeed in life. The staff when registering makes everyone feel comfortable and formative of the next steps to take to get into classes. When I'm there it actually feels like I have a big family. Everyone speaks to evwryone even if you dont have a class with that person. I'm happy I chose to attend Roosevelt. I wouldnt have it any other way.

Greek Life: Greeks and non-Greeks get along very well

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The classes that are offered are very diverse. There are many to choose from and the classes and labs and professors are just awesome.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: There are internships to choose from, on campus jobs, and the degree you earn here will most likely help you to earn a job.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I feel the safety on campus is very good and managed. It's in a nice place and you don't see TOO many sketchy people and I just feel very safe.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love living on campus, it is right downtown. Nice area, not sketchy at all. It's beautiful and wonderful and the area and everything is just great.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't really see an impact of greek life at all. If someone is greek it's not really noticed or cared about. You are who you are and there is normally no judgement.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The fields are great, the athletes are very good, and they are open to most outsiders.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Roosevelt is very diverse in not only their student life, but the professors as well. The professors really do seem to care and are helpful.

1 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Very small school so a "party" is with your small group of friends or roommates.
