Roosevelt University prides itself on being a diverse school with a deeply rooted social justice mission, however that mission and sense of community is somewhat lost in translation. Most students keep to themselves, student life is small and often the only participants are dormitory residents and freshmen. Additionally, the counselors and staff in financial aid are less than helpful. During the Fall 2015 semester, multiple students noticed their scholarships and grants were suddenly taken out of their accounts without explanation, and even more were told if they could not pay the rest of their tuition they would be dropped from classes. The situation took months to fix and financial aid advisors had little to say to anyone about where their thousands of dollars went. The classes are great, the professors are highly educated and compassionate, but the administration does not have the student's best interest in mind.
