Overall Experience: I've enjoyed Rock Valley it is pleasant. The faculty is great. There is always someone willing to help me progress with my future. When I am struggling I can talk to my professors and if I am still struggling I can go to the tutoring center for help. It is a small campus that is not spread out. The campus is beautifully landscaped. It is quite and peaceful. I would definately choose to go to Rock Valley again because it is affordable and a great central location that is not crowded.

Online Courses: I do not take online courses because they are too difficult. It was hard to get in contact with the instructors on a timely basis. I prefer traditional classrooms myself.

Student Body: The typical student at my school is very outgoing and from middle-class. It is very diverse in race and ethnicities. We are very accepting of different political backgrounds, sexual orientations, and races. We have a mixture of every race and political background. Most students are from the Midwest and same economic background.

Tuition & Financial Aid: There were a lot of hidden costs that I was upset about. The fees were misleading and I only was made aware of them while attending orientation. There are hidden parking fees, new student fees, application fees, and room and board extra fees. I believe my education is worth the tuition I paid. However, the room and board, food costs , and parking every semester fees aren't worth the heavy prices.

Career Services: I wouldn't know because I had transferred for community college and am pursuing a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology degree not a Masters or PHD program. I am a new student so I am not quite sure of that yet.

Academic Experience: The professors are always readily available to help you. The school also has writing centers and tutoring facilities on standby which is great for students. The whole staff wants you to succeed and the faculty always states that message to fellow students.

Academic Experience: My specific area of study is Psychology and Counseling which is extremely rewarding as well as fascinating. The workload is heavy but very interesting at the same time. The curriculum is 40 upper-level credits and you have to complete 120 hours of study to complete your degree. The school also wants you to be a more well-rounded student by taking two years in a foreign language as a requirement too.

Campus Resources: The resources are amazing on campus. There is always someone readily available in every department to assist you in reaching your career and academic roles. The financial department is incredible. I was very distressed when I first applied, and the workers helped me sort all the financial pressures out so that I would be prepared for my academic area of study. The advising department was the best in sorting out what credits I have already taken. The advisors mapped out all the courses I would need to take in order to accomplish my area of study to graduate. Both of these departments were wonderful in preparing me for my college experience.

Student Body: Since so many different kinds of people attend Rock Valley College, there is not a real way of defining a typical student per se. Mostly, we students are accepting of each other and seek to understand each other.

Tuition & Financial Aid: As a participant in the Running Start program, my school district has paid the cost of tuition for me. It was then an easy task of searching for textbook rentals online. It's a great deal when one considers that I'll be earning both my Associate's Degree of Science and my high school diploma by the end of my high school senior year.
