Campus Food

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: Starbucks and the Terrace are the best options. The Pub is okay and the commons is the worst.... the food just isn't good. And the fruit is never fresh

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: Currently the food rating on Niche for this school is a C. I'd say that's a mite too high. Perhaps a D+, and that's because they at least put in an effort. After a month of eating the same thing cooked the same way, everything starts to get bland.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: They food service tries to incorporate something for everyone to eat and recognize different types of cultures. They keep the grill station the same throughout each week, and work with individuals who require different types of foods based on their health. They also make sure to ask the students who they are liking the food and if there is something else they would like to have.

2 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: While it's great to have the option to have each meal on the meal plan, it would be so much better if the food was good. The variety and options at the Commons are often very dismal (food not hot enough, lack of healthy options that are palatable, obviously having better food on days when guests are on campus, etc). The board/meal plan is very expensive and I never felt like I was getting my money's worth.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: On campus there is the Commons, a We Proudly Serve Starbucks station below the Commons; there is the Pub which is basically like a fast food restaurant; and then we have the Terrace which is kind of like the Commons, but they serve different food.

You will consistently get mixed reviews about the food on campus. Ripon's food service is Sodexo, and while the company has a great staff, the food and quality are a bit inconsistent. However, Sodexo is good about taking suggestions and comments, and making changes. It's also willing to accommodate special requests and eating habits. Vegans and vegetarians can request special meals in the Commons.

There are a few different places to eat at on campus. The Commons, which is the cafeteria with buffet-style eating, is probably the most popular. This place serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, with the exception of Sunday when it has brunch and dinner. One swipe of your card, and you can eat as much as you want. There is a wide variety, including sandwiches, soups, salads, healthy options, traditional meats, casseroles, veggies, grill food, cereal, desserts, fruit, and pizza. You can find something under each of these headers almost every time you go to the Commons. The Pub is another place to eat; it has grill food like burgers, chicken nuggets, and fries, in addition to à la carte items like candy bars, chips, sandwiches, and salads among other things. The Terrace is open in the evenings, and stays open later to accommodate students who work late or have late practices. It's a pizza and sub place with the option of room delivery. Lastly, there is a Starbucks on campus, which has drinks and bakery items available, as well as yogurt, water, and juices.
