5 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is the BEST! I rarely complain about it. I just wish servery breakfast didn't run out at 9:15 AM every morning at Seibel :(

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: I love the food here. There are several dining halls with a variety of food, the Whoo Deli, mediterranean food from Droubi's, and late night food from the Hoot. Food trucks occasionally come by as well.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: The food on campus is great and satisfying. At least it's food, but if you go off campus like in the Rice Village for dining, you would find more variety and more palatable options.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: 6 Different serveries plus the 6 different restaurants in the Student Center plus the Hoot plus free food/snacks from various clubs around campus leads to a great time.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: Five star chefs; the food is fantastic. If you don't like the menu at one servery, you are free to eat at any other servery, which is great. Every college is connected to a dining hall and has its own commons to eat (although some share serveries, each residential college has its own place to actually eat). The cooks are very accommodating and there are tons of options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc. They are also open to suggestions and take feedback very seriously.

Students at Rice find that the dining experience is truly world class. Each of Rice's 11 residential colleges has a commons (dining hall) and servery (kitchen) from which students eat three meals per day. The on-campus meal plan allows students all-you-can-eat access to the serveries, which creates a comfy, homey environment where you don't have to be worrying about a food budget all of the time.

Students also rave about the dining staff—who aren't just cooks, but real chefs that work at Rice because they love interacting with the students (think Southern hospitality at its finest). The staff at your college's servery goes out of its way to get to know you and cater to your liking. Each servery has a unique flair—Mediterranean, healthy organic, vegetarian, French—and serves special dishes during different days of the week. Lucky students might get an invite from a Rice faculty member to dine at Cohen House, the ritzy faculty club, but many students graduate without ever stepping inside.
