Athletics: I have not participated in the sporting program but I have attended games and enjoyed them.

Overall Experience: Rhode island college and my overall experience so far are exactly what I was looking for to further my education. There are always activities going on to get involved in, I really like the layout and location of the campus. Everything about RIC is geared toward our education and pur safety and independence.

Overall Experience: I love the class sizes on campus. Most of my classes are smaller than they were in high school. I think the courses offered are great and that there is a huge variety of time slots and professors. I have only experienced one professor I did not like, but this professor was going through lots of health issues at the time and made it feel as if he never wanted to be at class when we had it. Other than that one class, I have enjoyed every professor and course I have taken. I believe the professors do everything in their power to help me do the best I can in the class and they strive to help in anyway they can!

Overall Experience: I am a nursing major at RIC and I have heard nothing but excellent things about this program. I know that RIC has a excellent pass rate on the boards each student must take at the end of their degree and that almost all students find jobs in their desired field at RIC, no matter the major.

Campus Housing: I lived in Sweet Hall, which is an all freshman dorm my first year and I loved it! I personally chose this residence hall because it was smaller and all freshman. I can honestly say that if I lived in one of the other dorms that include freshman, I do not think I would have met the people I am closest with today. I met some of my closest friends living in Sweet Hall, and these are the people that make going to school so far away from home more enjoyable. I personally like living on campus because you meet new people and I believe it is part of the college experience. I am looking forward to living on campus again this next year. I had a really close relationship with one of my Resident Assistance and I am lucky enough to have her again next year in my suite. I only had one problem with living on campus and that was when we signed up for housing for next semester. We had lottery numbers and everything was running smoothly until the time slot I had was right in the middle of when my roommates and I were in class. The internet was down in every building except the residence halls, so this made signing up for housing more of a hassle because you couldn't do it unless you were in a residence hall. Therefore, I think it would be better if they made the time slots either in the evening when most people are not in classes, or they should have it set up so you can register from any building on campus.

Greek Life: I am not part of Greek life on my campus, however I know some people who are and they are very proud to be in their organization. I think the Greeks do a great job with helping in our community and that they do great things around campus. My school only has seven Greek organizations, so we are rarely small compared to what I am used to. There are no Greek houses on campus, however, there are houses off campus that multiple people within an organization live together. I feel as if on my campus Greeks are viewed as regular students. One thing I have noticed with living on campus, is most people just go about their own business and do not have much of an opinion over what others are doing. That is the reason I believe most non-Greeks do not have much of an opinion on whether someone is participating in Greek life of not.

Athletics: I am a gymnast at Rhode Island College and I personally love being a student-athlete. As a team we tend to hang out with mostly other athletic teams and have support from them at our competitions as well as go to support the other teams at their competitions or games. Our Athletic Department does a great job at making sure all the athletes attend our classes and keep a certain grade point average. There is support for the athletes at my school from the community around us as well as the students on campus. My school is constantly striving to make our facilities and teams better each and every year. I could not imagine going to school without being an athlete.

Overall Experience: My overall experience at Rhode Island College (RIC) has been amazing! I just finished my freshman year and I have nothing but great things to say about my institution. I would choose RIC again in a heartbeat if i could do it all over again. I am from a small town in Georgia and my biggest interest in schools was going somewhere I did not know anyone, RIC gave me that option. I am also a gymnast and RIC has given me the opportunity to continue my sport at the next level. I think my favorite experience so far would be meeting all new people. I really had to step out of my comfort zone to be able to make new friends and feel more comfortable at school. It was hard for me to leave home, but now that I am going to school so far away it is almost weird being home longer than a week or two. I think my school is unique because it is such a diverse group of people. There are students at my school that have been in Rhode Island or Massachusetts their whole lives, and then there are students like me who are from Georgia or Non-New Englanders. Everyone is welcomed by their own group of people and there is always somewhere for people to fit in. When people ask me if I am going back to RIC next year I say absolutely without hesitation. It is the perfect fit for me!

Health & Safety: There hasn't been any campus crime that I heard of recently. I feel safe walking across campus to my car at night time.

Overall Experience: Some professors are very helpful and actually teach and then there are some who don't do much and read off of power points that were already handed to you prior to class. For class size, it depends really. I've had lectures that were filled with 200+ students and some that had less than 50.

Greek Life: I am currently in a sorority and it is the best thing I have done here at RIC. Everyone in the greek life is so welcoming and friendly. We volunteer and raise money for many organizations and participate in numerous events at RIC. The one thing that is mainly encouraged in my sorority is academics. At Rhode Island College, there are no greek housing since it is not allowed by the college. Although there are no housing available, we still meet in our offices where we can go to relax and hang out.

Athletics: There isn't much advertisement about sports games around campus. The most I seen is the baseball or softball team practicing outside will I was in the library.

Overall Experience: Rhode Island College is a small commuter college. The food is average in the Cafeteria but you also have the choice to get food at the Cafe which has a warm environment. As a commuter myself, there isn't much you can do besides go to school, attend class and go home. The best thing I have done so far was join a sorority which gave me friendships and support. Besides that, there isn't much at RIC.

Health & Safety: I don't think that there is ever a real harm or threat on campus. If something happens an email is usually sent to the students so that everyone is aware of the situation. I feel pretty safe on campus.

Overall Experience: Some professors can be very mean and hard to contact. There are professors I've taken classes with who never answer any of my emails and don't have flexible hours to meet with the student. The courses could be a bit more challenging when it pertains to your specific major.

Overall Experience: I haven't started to look into internships, or jobs after college yet. I still plan on going to graduate school after I finish my studies here. My friends have told me it's hard find internships and the school doesn't do a great job on helping you find one or prepare for finding one.

Campus Housing: There is only one building/dorm on campus that is adequate enough and cleanly enough for students. It is the only dorm that students want to live in because of the layout of the suites. All of the other dorms are drafty, old, dirty, and a lot of times the water is cold. It's not the most enjoyable dorming experience.

Athletics: Although there isn't a lot of support for my team, the fan club is growing. There have been larger audience turn-outs in our home competitions this year. Our gym needs a lot of work. We need more space, better equipment, and equipment that is checked monthly to make sure it's safe for athletes to practice on. The recreation center is a wonderful facility. Wish they would fix the temperature in there sometimes, it can be almost 100 degrees in there at points.

Overall Experience: This school is very small and all but one dorm is satisfying to live in. The buildings are old and they need more, new staff to teach. I love that I can do gymnastics at my school but the cost of living on campus is ridiculous for what you get. The dorms aren't clean/up-to date and the dining center is over priced and leaves kids sick sometimes. I think that this school needs to worry less about athletics and more about new buildings and renovations.
