Academic Flexibility: I have not had to transfer any credits so I do not have anything to say about that. I just think it's annoying that the chair person for the english department does not even listen to what you have to say, especially for students with learning disabilities. she dismisses you without a care in the world.

Online Courses: online classes are awesome, they're so convenient because it's more whenever you're able to do it as long as it's done by the due date. and the online classes I took, I had the tests online too as opposed to having to go to campus to take it. I also like that my professors were easy to get in touch with if i needed help. I definitely plan on taking online classes again in the future.

Overall Experience: I have been at RVCC for six years on and off. I feel as if I have had my share of great professors and courses and then my share of not so good courses or professors. I like that I do not have that many students in the class, I prefer smaller class settings so there is opportunity for the professors to get to know me by face and not just by name. I feel like there should be more variety of courses offered. I also feel as if there should be more than just the common languages offered here. Many colleges have arabic classes and I wish there was one at rvcc because I would take that no questions asked.

Overall Experience: I have heard so many times how great this college is and it is a good school with a good reputation so more chances than none, there will be an easy chance of transferring with RVCC under my transcript. When it comes to job listings, I see them all over the bulletin boards at school and frequently get emails regarding job and internship opportunities. I do not know too much about the alumni network either, I usually go to class, do my work and leave so I don't really know too much.

Overall Experience: I like that there are not that many students in each class, the most I think I had in one class in my six year on and off experience at Raritan Valley is maybe 25 students. I like that because there's more of a chance that the professor will remember my name and face & they are more able to work one on one because they don't have so many students in one class setting. I dislike the parking situation, it is ridiculous and annoying to have to get to school an hour before class because I want to get a parking spot that is not so far away from my building. They have an updated computer system, the bookstore has a lot of items that you may or may not need. The prices have gone up which is frustrating, I feel like they need to remember that we are college kids, most not able to get any financial aid so the extra few dollars that we are charged for a bottle of water or anything else could kind of make us or break us. The advisors are pretty good for the most part, but there are some who steered me in a wrong direction so it was frustrating for sure. Even though tuition is going up each semester it feels, it is a cheaper bet to go to raritan valley and transfer when you are ready,

Academic Flexibility: The past two semesters at RVCC has been very convenient when scheduling classes along with transferring credits. There are hundreds of classes to chose from with different time frames which pertain to everyone and their specific schedules. It was easy for me to create a schedule around my work hours along with not being overwhelmed or over loaded with course work throughout the week. RVCC does a great job at encouraging their students to graduate with an associate degree after two years in order to transfer to another 4 year college with all of your credits you've earned.

Online Courses: I have taken 3 online courses and they have been very influential to my education. By allowing me to log onto the online classroom whenever I had time in my schedule was extremely helpful especially when trying to juggle work and my other classes. It allowed me to create an ethical work structure and time management skills with assignments due at specific times on a specific day. The workload varied for different courses, however was a manageable amount. In my online music class part of my final was to go to a Rutgers concert and take notes along with write a paper on the performance. I really enjoyed how my professor gave us a hands on project even though it was an online class. All of the professors I had for my online classes were very good at communicating through email and I did not have a problem with having my questions answered at all!

Career Services: RVCC has a transfer fair every semester where representatives from local colleges come to meet and asses prospective students. Many colleges will give students an instant decision if they provide their college transcript to the colleges' advisor. This allows students to get a feel for potential schools they can transfer to and more information about their specific major and curriculum. RVCC is extremely involved when it comes to encouraging their students to transfer after they receive their associated degree an to continue their education. RVCC even offers specific Bachelor's degrees on their campus through local colleges such as Rutgers and Kean. This allows students who cannot afford housing or to commute an opportunity to further their education and receive a higher degree.

Overall Experience: I love the professors at RVCC. I have formed amazing and unforgettable relationships with many of my professors and I could not be more thankful! The average class has no more than 20-25 students and the professors are engaged and involved with all of their students. In a personal example, I have taken the same Spanish professor for two semesters now and this woman has not only had a strong influence on my grades and academic accomplishments, but on my character as a whole. She is a professor who will stay after class or reschedule her office hours in order to meet with a student and help them understand the curriculum. She genuinely cares about the students in her class and wants everyone to succeed. Many of my professors over the last two years have wanted the best for their students and went out of their way to help and meet with me when I asked. There is nothing worse than thinking you're "just a number", but at RV the professors know not only your name, but you as a person and want to see you strive for success!!

Overall Experience: RVCC has a career fair along with a transfer fair many times a year. This gives their students opportunities to meet with business owners and corporations along with prospective colleges and receive more information about them. By having these fairs students are encouraged to submit resumes and transcripts in order to better their future and seek employment or further education once they graduate. There are also weekly emails that are sent out titled "Job Flash" which provide employers seeking individuals as employees from RVCC. Its a great opportunity to potentially find a job and start a career.

Academic Experience: I am receiving my Liberal Arts degree. At first I did not know what I wanted to major in, I knew I wanted to help people so I had a feeling it would be psychology based so I decided to major in Liberal Arts. By choosing this major I have had the opportunity to get a feel for different classes which has helped me further decide my major for when I transfer and receive my Bachelor's Degree. Being a Liberal Arts major gives you the opportunity to take all sorts of classes, mine ranged from sociology to philosophy and an intro to criminal justice course. By having the ability to further educate myself and experiment with other subjects it has helped me decide what I want to do in the future. Due to taking many courses which relate to people, such as psychology, sociology, human development, and biology, I have decided to dual major in Social Work and Psychology when I transfer. I couldn't be more grateful to RVCC and it's Liberal Arts program for allowing me to stretch my thinking and give me the opportunity to experiment with different courses for me to discover my true passion.

Overall Experience: The professors at RVCC care about their students, they want each and every single one to succeed. I loved creating strong relationships with my professors, it helped me learn and understand the criteria so much better and I wasn't afraid to ask for help or ask questions. I was not just a number to the professors, I was a student whom they wanted to educate. There is a diversity of students who want to learn and earn a degree to start their lives, whether that be transfer to another school or start working, everyone is motivated and wants to succeed. There is an Academic Support Center where you can get help with homework, ask questions for an upcoming test, or even have an English major edit a paper for you. I took full advantage of the Academic Support Center to help better myself and my grades, its an awesome opportunity which is available to everyone! RVCC has Phi Theta Kappa, an honors society, and if you have above a 3.5 GPA you are invited to join. PTK is a large part of RVCC and is always pushing its members to get involved and make the best of their experience at the community college. Being a member, I have volunteered at different organizations and learned a lot about myself and others by helping and becoming part of my community. RVCC has many opportunities to get involved and form relationships with peers around you, and not to forget is one of the highest ranked community college in the nation!

Academic Flexibility: There is not much flexibility in the classes, it takes me some time to get my courses picked because they are only available during the same time slot as other classes. Overall, because of the faculty, it is easy to manage and find the right schedule for each person

Overall Experience: I have had really great experiences with Raritan Valley Community College. To start off, a lot of the advisers are empathetic and really put effort into the students academics. The school makes it really easy to sign up for classes, drop classes, and move your schedule around. It is an extremely clean campus, and the faculty is filled with smiles and helpful employees.

Academic Experience: It feels great to even have a major (communications) since most people at this school don't. The workload isn't too overwhelming, just like any other major, you have to keep up on your homework and try your best. By the end of this semester, I'm hoping I can get an intership to work for a local company and I think this school is going to help me a lot to do just that.
