Recent Alumnus:Perfect balance between large university and small liberal arts feel. Community is greatly emphasized--creating a 'community of care.' While not having a football team is a drawback, it is easy to get over and students continue to root for their home teams. As a freshman who has been here for a little over a month, the work load is heavy but manageable if you balance your time.

College Junior:Overall, Lafayette has been the best experience so far in my life. I knew I wanted to major in Biology and I have always been interested on the medical field when I was applying to colleges. However, everything has changed after the first winter term I spent on campus. I conducted biological research for my very first time, and more specifically, cancer research. From pipetting to centrifuging, from splitting tumor cells to performing qPCR, my perspective on biology has altered in those three weeks. I realized that I didn't want to go to medical school; I enjoy hands-on experiments to solve the bigger questions and mysteries in human bodies. And from then onward, I have been conducted research every semester, summer, and winter. I want to be a scientist. It's no longer a dream; it's turned into a practical goal.

Growing up from an immigrant family where my parents work twelve hours a day, six days a week, going to college was hard; however, Lafayette was able to provide nearly full funded scholarships and grants to make my dreams come true. I didn't want to be a waitress or a chief like my parents, I wanted to have a career that could pay enough money to support my future family as well as my parents, without getting back pain, arm pain, and leg numbness everyday. And Lafayette made my dream more realistic and practical.
After being here at Lafayette for two years now, I never regret my decision and am grateful to my scholarship donors. I am positive that after enriching my education at Lafayette, I will be able to become a scientist one day and work in the pharmaceutical industry.

College Sophomore:I love TU. I am a frustrated with financial aid, but other than that, it is perfect. I would most choose TU again, knowing how much I like the school, but if I had anticipated the issues with financial aid without knowing how much I would like the school, I would not have come here. The original scholarships I was given were the chief reason I chose to attend, but there have been issues with getting the amount I was told I would receive.

First things first, I would honestly give this school a 4.5, or a 9/10... not a 10. Mostly for this upcoming reason.
This school is CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY expensive lol. Was my degree worth it, the alumni network, prestige, job opportunities, etc? YES.. But SMU is still WAYYYY TOO expensive. This is the most expensive school in Texas and by a GOOD MARGIN actually lol(I believe it's around 8-10k more than TCU, 2nd most expensive lol). Thus, the "MRS" thing at SMU is fairly accurate lol.
Where to begin...
My whole family went to either UT or Rice, so I had pressure growing up to attend those schools. I chose SMU easily and (despite the CRAZY tuition) I would do it ALL OVER AGAIN.
When you go to college you want to gain a few things:
1. Life experience
2. A solid education
3. Friends/opportunities to last a lifetime
4. Strong alumni network (SMU has a VERY STRONG one!)
5. Degree weight/worth/value
7. A GOOD job
You will get ALL OF THOSE at SMU. Upon graduation I had no trouble getting job offers, particularly in Dallas and ALL THROUGHOUT Texas. The other 2 major cities that come to mind: Houston and Austin, I had DOZENS of offers and meetings from those areas lol. It just came down to where I wanted to live in the end, honestly lol. They were ALL good jobs! The "recognition/prestige' of being SMU alumni is almost UNMATCHED in Texas. If you plan to stay in Texas after graduation, you will be JUST FINE(trust me) lol.
The friends i've met, made, and kept from my days from all background SES, racial(SMU is more diverse than you think), Greek or NON Greek, I have and will keep for a lifetime. I also PERSONALLY know 2 people who got into Harvard Law and 1 to Harvard Med from SMU undergrad.
SMU pushes you to bring the best OUT OF YOU, work hard, do right, do well, carry/present yourself well and Pony Up!

College Sophomore:Macalester has provided an incredibly welcoming and intellectually stimulating college experience thus far. It's students and faculty share an excitement for learning and the avant-garde. Before coming to Macalester I was unsure of how I would feel in this alien place, but since being here for nearly two years I have grown the love the college and all the members of its community. It truly is a hidden gem.

College Junior:The academics are very insightful and interesting. However, the science courses seems to be unreasonably difficult- I met a doctor who went to Trinity and she claimed that Trinity was harder than medical school, which does not really seem fair. The humanities courses are thought-provoking.

College Sophomore:The people here in Sewanee are great, and they have been helpful in pointing me in the right direction. It's a close-knit community, and I would still choose to go to Sewanee again because of the personal growth I've achieved in the past year.

College Sophomore:The strong sense of community and support that the small school atmosphere provides has been an incredibly positive experience for me. In addition, the small class sizes help professors foster highly intellectual and productive relationships with students. The average student at DePauw is very motivated, curious, and intelligent. These characteristics make the students at DePauw very unique because not only do they have big dreams but they also have the determination and support to make them happen. DePauw students unofficial motto of "Work hard, play hard" describes why I would choose DePauw all over again if given the opportunity. The balance of rigorous academics with positive social experiences that allow students to decompress and prepare for the upcoming week of classes is why DePauw University was the right choice for me.

College Junior:Augustana is a small community campus that allows the liberal education to be spread evenly. Due to the community that Augustana gives, you really get to know those in your major, activities and all the faculty which makes it feel very comfortable right from the start. Both sciences and literature majors are highly prepared for their futures with tons of hands on that Augie gives with labs, study abroad and help with internships that other small undergraduate schools don't have. Augustana is great if you are looking for a small undergraduate that will prepare you for the next step.

College Junior:Academics at our school are some of the best in the Midwest. When we are given high ratings by business magazines/companies, it is for good reason! Our professors know their field and are always trying to learn more to better themselves every day. The workload can be hefty, but it isn't useless. If there is a program you want to go into but they don't have, find a professor and they will help you to accomplish your goals!

Recent Alumnus:"Gusties wil shine" is our battle cry and we truly embody this at Gustavus. I came in as a transfer student and truly found my "place" and myself at Gustavus. I discovered a major and career path that I was truly passionate about, was privileged to have professors who not only wanted you to succeed, but truly became surrogate parents, was given the amazing opportunity to study abroad, and was blessed with lifelong friends who are more like family. I absolutely love that beautiful, albeit windy, haven on top of the hill.

College Sophomore:I really do enjoy Luther College. A lot of people here are genuinely nice people and the campus is beautiful even though it is Iowa. There is a lot of talent on this campus and plenty of stuff to do. The small town is great. However, sometimes I would like to attend a larger school but in the end I still love Luther for the home that it has given me.

College Junior:My school has some of the best teachers I have ever had. They are all very committed to their role as an educator and it is very refreshing to be surrounded by that compared to how rare a great teacher was at my grade schools. The environment of the school is also really great. You feel vary safe and cared about by all the staff and students. It is all around a very wonderful school.
