Off-Campus Dining: The fast and affordable on a college budget off-campus places include cookout, wendys, sheetz, hardees, lins house (chinese), and long john silvers.

Off-Campus Dining: Everywhere off campus isn't bad, and considering it's mostly the only options on the weekend unless you go to the store and have a kitchen to cook in.

Off-Campus Dining: I can count the amount of off-campus restaurants that haven't gone out of business within the last year with one hand. Even though when you find a good restaurant, you need access to a car if you don't want walk 35 minutes either way. In a positive manner, when you reach said restaurant, the food will not disappoint. Here at Radford I am quite embarrassed when I have out-of-town friends visit and I run out of eating options after two days. There are three main reasons for this - 1. Out of the five good restaurants, three of them are the same type of food - 2. When we, as young people, want to go eat at night, they're 20 minutes from closing their doors - 3. As stated previously, they are mainly too far away from residence halls to walk too in reason. In addition to this mess of things, the student discounts are absolutely none.

There are many options available to students who want to eat off campus, from chain restaurants to privately-owned, intimate dining experiences. The different styles and types of food off campus suit almost every taste. There are also several options of every variety of food, with prices and quality being very good.

While there are many old standbys, such as Macado's and Sonic, new restaurants are constantly springing up in Radford. Sal's Italian Restaurant and Pizza has been a favorite for students to take a date and has been voted the No. 1 Italian restaurant in the New River Valley. Most restaurants in the area are within walking distance from campus, usually less than a mile. Others—such as Sonic, Sal's, and Hank's—are a bit farther, but easily accessible if you have time for a long walk, a bike ride, or a quick car trip. Prices are very reasonable, and often a student can spend less then $10 on a very satisfying meal.
