Off-Campus Housing: A lot of similar resturants.

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of similar choices.

College Freshman

Administration: I do not use the transportation.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Depending on the time of day, parking can either be a breeze or a total hassle.

Party Scene: I do not live on campus.

Campus Food: I do not eat on campus.

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They took away my scholarship even though I received good grades, a solid GPA, and more credits than I need per year.

Greek Life: They are nice people and promote a social and welcoming atmosphere.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are some apartments close to the campus. They seem to be in decent conditions.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The dorms are fairly clean. However, the bathrooms need a little remodeling done.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There is not as much security present at the school. They only hand out parking tickets to people.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: The campus is fairly safe and the people are extremely diverse. The learning atmosphere is comforting and resources aren't the best, but the school does what it can to make schedules, times, etc. somewhat available and convenient for the students.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Not too many offered for transfer students but I did receive one

Overall Experience: The admissions office was available and answered questions easily. I never once felt as though I was just a number. Compassionate and caring seems to be their very motto

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Housing is fairly available, apartments are in good condition and most houses are for rent as well. One definitely needs a car to live on campus being that most locations are away from campus. While crime happens everywhere, I've never felt unsafe.

3 College Junior

Local Area: Small, close nit community, however with a big city like Chicago only 35 minutes away, it makes the small town not so bad.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: As mentioned before, night life and restaurants are interesting enough to keep one entrained for some time, however, Chicago is close by and offers so much more, Perfect!

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: With the police right on campus I feel a genuinely safe feeling

4 College Junior

Athletics: I cannot speak too much in regards to this topic because I am so enthralled with my studies, however, I have heard and been told the facilities are great and the school spirit is fantastic!

Majors: Nursing Program- It is a rigorous program that requires long hours of study and on hand practice. One must attend class or risk following behind. However, it is a very rewarding program with amazing professors who understand what is it to be a student. It is a very stressful career of choice, however, with the support of staff, professors and the amazing students in the program, it all is manageable.

Party Scene: In Hammond there aren't too many party "hot spots" unless a student has his or her own place and throws a huge party there. However, the great convenience of living in Hammond is the close proximity to Chicago Il. Chicago I great city with a lovely night life and great places to eat.

Administration: Purdue Calumet is pretty phenomenal school. While at one time is was a commuter college, they are moving towards an environment where students can not only live on campus, but have new on campus community living activities. School policies are strict in circumstances of the honor code, they take that very serious as; as they should. However, the campus is very friendly and close nit. I look forward to the growth and future investments of Purdue Calumet.
