The whole college is somewhat small but the small teacher to student ratio can be seen as a good thing. I actually prefer the generally smaller classes, as I am more comfortable to ask questions from the professor instead of fighting for his or her attention with other students. I also like the availability of teaching assistants even though I get most of my studying help from my friends. Outside of classes, the campus does not really offer too much in terms of activities. While the occasional one is advertised, none have really peaked my interest. Unless there is free food involved of course. I do most of my relaxing hanging out with friends, which is the only reason I enjoyed my first year at college.

There are some very good things about this school, and there are some very bad things about this school. I will start with the bad. One bad thing is that every professor I've had that doesn't teach a science class has had a huge favoritism problem. The English department and the Spanish department have demonstrated the most unfair grading system I have ever seen (based on favoritism) in all my years of schooling. Another bad thing for Purdue Calumet is the fact that all courses are not offered each semester. On the bright side, Purdue Calumet has an awesome Biology department. Everything is graded based on if the material was learned or not. They are completely engaged in everything each student does that has to do with the course. There are many opportunities provided for students by the biology department as well. There is a lot of potential for Purdue Calumet.

I love everything about Purdue While attending high school, I did not experience how many different people and cultures there are. Purdue creates a great environment for students getting to know more about diversity and background. The professors want the students to succeed and the campus provides a warm welcoming to all students.
