4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I've never felt unsafe on campus before, and in case of emergency, everyone is notified immediately and proper action is taken.

Campus Housing: Unless you're a boy or are lucky enough to get into Raymond hall your freshman year, freshman housing sucks. However, upper classmen dorms are all beautiful.

Off-Campus Dining: There's a bunch of places you can go off campus for food, but the major places are on Thayer street and by the mall so some sort of transportation is necessary. Since the majority of their customers are students there are many student discounts.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Basketball and hockey games are widely attended and showcase huge amounts of school spirit. Intramurals are huge and a pretty decent amount of the student population participate in them. Even though they are fun, everyone is super competitive because intramural shirts are prized possessions.

Greek Life: We don't have greek life.

Academics: As a Global Studies major, and Studio Art double minor (painting and photography), I feel like I have hit the lottery at PC. The Global Studies and Feinstein community at this school is absolutely life changing and will challenge you and encourage you in all aspects of your life. The art scene, although a bit underground, is remarkable for a liberal arts school.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: You definitely have to wait to get the amazing housing. Freshman and sophomore year are absolutely the worst; my Aquinas room had 6 mice and 1 rat (that we knew of). However, Mal Brown and the apartments are beyond gorgeous.

Off-Campus Dining: Providence is rated the #1 food city in the United States. Enough said.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: Providence College parties used to be amazing...once the bars started cracking down on Fake IDs and cops began busting house parties, it has definitely tamed for the under 21 crowd. Still a bunch of fun though.

5 College Junior

Athletics: I love my gym, and PC is making all of our stadiums really above par with the rest of Big East.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I am getting some money, but not the amount of aid others are. I will have a bunch of loans when I graduate.

5 College Junior

Local Area: I am located in Providence. This young, cultured city always has something new and fun going on. Shopping is always an option with the Providence Place Mall, along with the many family owned shops and boutiques. There is a healthy rivalry between all Providence schools that makes the sports atmosphere really fun.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Living off campus is very close to school and city.

3 College Senior

Administration: Average pain in the butt

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: You will NEVER go hungry in Providence!

5 College Sophomore

Administration: Fun. Endless Fun. And smiles. Many.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Honestly the nightlife at Providence College is unbeatable. There is ALWAYS something to do!! Constant partying if you wish... (;

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is a great opportunity!

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Amazing! Division 1 Champions in a number of sports. Infinite school spirit.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: We are safe on campus. Security can be a pain sometimes though.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: The party scene gets stale after awhile

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Always walk with a friend

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The pizza is great for late nights

3 College Freshman

Majors: Never fall behind in Civ!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Looking back on their time at PC leaves students glowing with fond memories. Most appreciate the stimulating academics and whirlwind social scene that PC offers. While the occasional person complains that it is too much of the same thing, a copious number of students say that they couldn’t imagine being anywhere else, and if they had to do it all over again, they would absolutely make the same choice to come to PC. The overwhelming majority look on their time spent at PC as a phenomenal learning experience that has helped them develop into the intellectually, emotionally, and socially well-rounded beings that they are today.

The brilliance of the education at PC is that it extends itself outside of the classroom. A student's experience at PC can be anything that they want to make it. If you want to focus on academics, you can, and you will find a group of people who feel exactly the same way you do. If you want an education in socializing or just want your college years to be the wild and crazy ones you’ve heard they can be, PC has that, too. Most students come to PC ready to work and ready to have fun—as long as you are open-minded, PC will give you everything you desire.
