5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Alumni at PC is tops! Jobs are waiting for the graduates!

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Providence works hard to ensure safety,

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Freshman and sophomore housing is crowded and very little space per student

5 College Junior

Athletics: Sports are huge at Providence!

Party Scene: I know people go to bars and clubs; my roommate and her friends were some of many. I preferred to go to parties on or near campus that were hosted by people I knew and I always went with a group of friends. That's something unique about the community: no matter how messed up someone gets at a party, if they go with friends, their Friar family will bring them home safely.

Party Scene: There are very few parties on weeknights, but sometimes there are a few on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are always parties somewhere (on or off campus) on Fridays and Saturdays. Even if people don't plan on hosting a party, they gather with a group of friends who bring alcohol and music, and it turns into a party. Most of the parties are really fun, especially if they are with friends. They also tend to die out as the night gets later; many parties don't last past 2am.

Academics: Every class tries to relate to another. Students have many different opinions on Civ, but many have said in the end, that the class was useful and helpful to their ultimate goal of study. It helped broaden their horizons, and in some cases, encouraged a few to pick up another major or minor.

Diversity: We have had quite a few issues with diversity, many of which the administration tries to hide from the student and public eye. However, I have only heard a few insulting comments regarding race. Many of the students and faculty are very accepting of people from different ethnicities. However, there are people on campus who are racist and they tend to cause trouble.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There's an unusually high access to drugs and alcohol. However, instead of most students pressuring others into drinking or taking drugs, many will defend those who don't want to. Students take care of each other, no matter how high or drunk some of them choose to get.

Health & Safety: Campus is safe. surrounding area could be safer

Overall Experience: Teachers and class sizes are great

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Typical housing system and dorms

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Basketball and hockey are big here

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Not happy here. Transferring in the fall.

Health & Safety: Safety and security on our campus is overrated. Although the claim to secure our campus there has been many events where they racially profile students and teachers.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Overall my experience has been very good. The courses and professors I've had have all been very good and interesting. Although the DWC was always hard to understand, the professors were open to office hours and meeting outside of class to help with the course.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: There are many opportunities for undergraduates and graduates alike because of the alumni connections and also the job/internships available at PC

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorms, suites, and apartments are all very up to date and are clean. Many people are happy with their living situation.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: We don't have Greek life.

3 College Junior

Athletics: As said previously, our teams are very apparent at our school especially since the campus is small and family oriented. The teams are all average and the fan support goes above and beyond. We definitely have school spirit wherever we go you know who we are.

Overall Experience: My overall experience is definitely unique. I was on the women's basketball team for my freshman and sophomore years and now just a student. Although being on the team my favorite experiences always involved my friends off the team. The school is unique because of its small and neat campus, it is also very sports oriented. From experience the men's basketball team and the men's hockey team are both overrated but that doesn't stop our school from having spirit!

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Campus housing is pretty good. The only thing that stinks about it is the lottery system. Housing selection can be a hassle

4 College Freshman

Athletics: We have a great athletic program and facilities to make participation possible.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The professors I've had have been good. The dorms are really not that terrible at all, and the party scene is great. There's always something going on on campus. The only bad thing about the school is the housing process. It's on a lottery basis and is done completely randomly, which can be frustrating at times.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The security on campus is of the best quality. People tend to walk in groups on campus, so it's easy to stick with friends. Everyone encourages safety, especially students. I know that even if I leave campus, if I travel with fellow Friars, we all look out for each other.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Looking back on their time at PC leaves students glowing with fond memories. Most appreciate the stimulating academics and whirlwind social scene that PC offers. While the occasional person complains that it is too much of the same thing, a copious number of students say that they couldn’t imagine being anywhere else, and if they had to do it all over again, they would absolutely make the same choice to come to PC. The overwhelming majority look on their time spent at PC as a phenomenal learning experience that has helped them develop into the intellectually, emotionally, and socially well-rounded beings that they are today.

The brilliance of the education at PC is that it extends itself outside of the classroom. A student's experience at PC can be anything that they want to make it. If you want to focus on academics, you can, and you will find a group of people who feel exactly the same way you do. If you want an education in socializing or just want your college years to be the wild and crazy ones you’ve heard they can be, PC has that, too. Most students come to PC ready to work and ready to have fun—as long as you are open-minded, PC will give you everything you desire.
