Academic Flexibility: Working for the college has make flexibility a convince for me. My bosses understand that I school is my number one prioity and they make sure I get done what I need and what is best for me. There have been times when I have been stressed about school and work and have had my bosses help me out with time management.

Online Courses: Fall of 2015 was my first year taking online classes and now I am taking two more. The online instructors were helpful and even went out of their way to make Skype sessions for extra help. My Music Appreciation class even had lectures online for every single class which was nice because you always had the opportunity to look back and review. I learn better when I take my time. Having an online class that let me go back and read assignments more than once and watching lectures was a huge benefit for me. Classroom courses did not give me that opportunity all the time, so online classes really worked for me. Emailing professors was very helpful when I was confused or stressed, and I am happy to say I received very well grades in both online classes I took.

Career Services: With the job I have, I personally learn a lot from my boss. She has two master degrees and I know I can learn from her experiences as take them into action with my job on how to deal with situations as a RA.

Academic Experience: Knowing that there is a possibility of me leaving Alaska, I decided to get my Associates of Arts degree at PWSC. I have taken many classes that have helped me learn as a student and help me feel I know what I need for my future classes for a bachelor degree. Taking English class at PWSC helped me improve my weak grammar, teaching me to write more structurally. I had gotten the opportunity to take interesting classes along with my degree. History of Alaska and Natives of Alaska Anthropology were just a couple of classes I truly enjoyed taking at PWSC because they were different. I know i would not find these classes everywhere so I took the opportunity to take them with my degree. I am thankful to go to a college where I can expand my brain to learning new things I never thought of.

Overall Experience: I feel as a student in such a small college has benefited me in an eminence amount. The professors at PWSCC take the time to know their students, picking out their strengths and weakness and helping them advance in both. Taking classes with only 8 students has also helped me learn to speak up and ask questions in class. Before college, I was always too scared to ask for help in class but being in small classes helps me slowly get over that fear. I feel PWSCC is a great start for students wanting somewhere to begin their college life without being too overwhelmed.

Overall Experience: Being a Resident Assistant at PWSCC has helped me grow as an individual and mature as a student at college. It has shown me responsibility and how to manage my time as a student as well as an employee at the college. I have learned to set schedules to keep me on task, strategies to get my class work done while handling my job, how to save money, and paying for my college tuition. PWSCC is a place where I can grow as an individual and know the staff and students will help me do that here.

Overall Experience: I have been going to PWSC for three years and I wouldn't pick anywhere else to start my college adventure off with. I work for the college and doing so has made my experience one I will forever be grateful for. I am luck to say my co-workers my best friends and to work with my staff who I could count on at any time. Working here has helped me grow as a college student. Being that PWSC is such a small campus, everyone gets the attention and assistance they need in college, where you don't see this very often. The professors take the time to know you and find your strengths and weaknesses, and help you grow as an individual. I am so grateful to call PWSC my home away from home.

Academic Flexibility: i have been a little flustered at the fact that many of my credits that i have earned elsewhere have only been counted as extracarricular and so they do not count but i have learned to accept it especcially since i have changed majors so some things do not match up

Campus Resources: the computer network is topnotch here at PWSCC with tech support 24/7 and has always been available to help with any technical problems presented to the students here.

Campus Resources: while the facilities do not include a library or an actual gym there are some reconstructions going on at the facility to fix the physical fitness center. the Tech support however is very excellent and we have the fastest internet here in valdez.

Academic Experience: As far as I know, I may be the only one right now going for the Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences through first getting an Associate's through PWSCC and then transferring to UAA for the rest of the classes. It's unusual, and I know it will take a bit longer, just because I have a full life of work and family, and therefore can't take a full course load every semester, but it works for me.

Student Body: There are all types of students here, older like me, typical younger students, and moms and folks taking classes to improve their work situations. There are lots of things you can participate in on campus or in the community, but no pressure to do so.

Academic Flexibility: While living in this sweet rural town, I can get my first two years of basics done, and then I can transfer to UAA and get the rest of my degree requirements done via long distance classes, with some help from the folks here, since it's part of UAA.

Campus Resources: There are 3 computer labs on campus and one in the student apartment complex. Internet is fast and reliable, and the IT department is always available if I have an issue. We can print stuff for classes, and if we need to print or scan or fax stuff for personal reasons, we can pay a tiny fee and they help you do it.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: They have a distance delivery lab option, where you go on SecondLife and complete science labs as your avatar. It's super unusual and makes learning the stuff more fun, too. I think it's amazing!
There's a little coffee shop on campus, which makes life nicer, too.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: They have a stellar museum with Alaska Native arts and also natural history. Really well-done and it's free!
The student apartments are clean and spacious, and right across the street from the grocery store. Very convenient.
This town is really friendly and beautiful, too. I live it here.

Student Body: Diversity Is Average – This is an interesting place to be in regards to student body. There is no out of state tuition with draws people from all over the world to get the Alaskan experience with a low cost of education. With people from all over it bring a great diversity of religion, economic, and political views. This is an area that is not very religious and definitely not Christian so acceptance as a Christian that is outspoken is not accepted very well at all.

Academic Flexibility: Class Flexibility – Having the ability to have both in small classes and some online experience has made this an incredible place to learn. You have in some cases 1 professor to 3 o 4 students. Great focused learning.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: We have 4 computor rooms, and 6 computer techs when we have a problem with even our personal computers we can take them and get help. We can print free. I love my school.

Career Services: Job Prospects – The job prospects for post graduation are tremendous. I am working towards a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant degree in which there is a big demand for in any state if I were to choose to move. This is why I chose this field and happy that they had the program available.

Academic Experience: Acedemic Experience – I have really enjoyed the classes that I have had to this point. I am earning my degree online which has been wonderful for my schedule. Most all of my professors have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable with the courses and online audio conferencing classes. This has been a valuable experience for me.
