Off-Campus Dining: *I am going to preface this by saying that I am a food snob.* The better restaurants in town tend to be more expensive (for a college budget). There are plenty of places to get a good beer, burger, or pizza, but other than that, most places miss the mark. I was originally bummed about this but then I learned to save money to go to the good places and how to cook well.

Drug Safety: I've seen people participate in drug culture but I can't say too much about it because I don't really participate in it. Prescott College students tend to appreciate good beer. New students can go a little wild but it doesn't seem much different from any other college. There are definitely environments that promote drug usage or promote non-usage. You can situate yourself wherever you feel comfortable. I haven't experienced much peer pressure.

Health & Safety: Security is around at night and I have been told that they can escort you places if you feel unsafe. I personally have never felt unsafe so I have never utilized that service. People leave valuables all over the place and things don't get stolen. I have gotten way too comfortable doing this and have to remind myself not to be so nonchalant whenever I leave Prescott. If the police are ever called, they are there almost instantaneously.

Majors: I am under the Cultural & Regional Studies Department where I am majoring in Social Justice (a major I designed). I love the fact that I had the ability to design my own major and take course I wanted to take instead of 2 years of general education courses. Everything I have learned has been super exciting! My studies have taken me all over Arizona, to California, and even Kenya. I can't say enough good things!

Majors: If I could do it all over again I would! Sometimes I wish I could extend my time at school because there are still so many courses I haven't gotten a chance to take. My career goal is to work and/or start a nonprofit organization and I am well underway with all the skills that Prescott College has given me.

Transportation: There is no public transportation in the town of Prescott but for the most part, that's okay. Prescott College is only a few blocks away from the center of downtown and grocery stores are within walking distance. Off campus students usually live within a mile radius from campus. There is a shuttle that takes students to the grocery store multiple times throughout the week. Most students walk, bike, or drive cars. Taxis exist in Prescott but I have never witnessed any Prescott College student utilize them.

Diversity: Diversity is a tricky word. In terms of people of different ages from different parts of the country who have done different things and are apart of different socioeconomic classes, yes Prescott College is diverse. In terms of race, sexual orientation, political, and religious beliefs, Prescott College is not very diverse at all (although I know the college is trying to change that). There is a queer student union, support group for students of color, and veterans support group.

Party Scene: The actual town of Prescott has Whiskey Row, which is home to many different bars that have different feels but tend to have the same music and vibe all the time. If you are 21+ it is fun to check out every once in a while. Prescott College students are always having house parties and potluck gatherings. More and more fun on-campus events are happening too such as open mics, community dancing, and movie showings. I personally have never had a lack of something to do. I have a harder time trying to figure out what to choose over another!

Scholarships: Financial Aid takes a little navigating but that is because everyone in the Financial Aid department is always extremely busy. When I do meet with people from financial aid, my interactions are always pleasant and extremely helpful. They have helped me through a lot of situations that I thought were hopeless. Overall I am very pleased with Financial Aid at Prescott College and the hoops you have to jump through are not nearly as bad as the ones at bigger colleges.

Technology: The printer gets jammed a lot, and sometimes the computers are full at the end of the semester. Generally the wi-fi works well all around campus and the IT people are always available to help

3 College Junior

Parking: There are enough parking lots around, although you may need to walk a way to class

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus is very safe however there are some questionable areas next to the campus due to the homeless and addict rates in the town. But school is very safe and there are rarely fights

5 College Junior

Academics: The experiential based learning is the most unique learning experience a student could ask for. The teachers truly care about their students success and help them achieve personal career and educational goals to the best of their abilities.

Off-Campus Housing: I've always lived off campus and have never been without a place to stay. People are even open to allow couchsurfers if you are in between housing situations.

Diversity: Prescott College is very open and accepting, although we the ethnic diversity on campus could be increased

4 College Junior

Weather: It rarely rains or snows, and when it does everyone loves it.

Otherwise there is endless sunshine and bluebird skies.

If it snows even an inch they will close campus for snow delay or closure since the town isn't used to handling snow

Diversity: People are open minded and accepting, but there isn't much diversity on campus. The college and town are very white. Strong gender studies program shows in people's attitudes towards gender here.

4 College Junior

Weather: Lots of sun all winter long.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: There is no "Greek Life"

3 College Junior

Party Scene: Only a few places to go downtown.

4 College Junior

Administration: Pretty relaxed as far as I can tell, but they would take any real issue seriously.

4 College Junior

Academics: The professors are great. The academics can be rigorous if you take the right class

4 College Freshman

Weather: We have really amazing weather here. It is super rainy for maybe the first month of the school year, and then the rest of the year is pretty mild.

Drug Safety: There is a really big drinking and smoking scene here, which everyone knows about, but there isn't really pressure to take part, if you don't want to.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: This school is mostly made up of white, upper-middle class, secular liberals. That being said, it's a school that's very into social justice, and everyone is very accepting, no matter your race, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic background, whatever. I have noticed that people who are very conservative, and are vocal about their political beliefs, are given a hard time, but that's about it.
