Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of dining options around campus of all types and costs. Foodcarts are cheap, offer a wide variety of food, and are all over the place. Fast Food restaurants are plentiful as well, as are diners, bars, grills, and other sit down restaurants. Prices very, but PSU is constantly offering coupons for students and many places will knock off a lot of money if you are enrolled as a student. You can pretty much walk in any direction, pick up a rock and throw it-I guarantee it;ll hit some place new for you to eat at!

Local Area: Portland is a huge city and there is always something to do. Be it cosmic mini golf, vegan restaurants and food carts, the Oregon Zoo, Ground Kontrol arcade, cafes to study in, or for the older audiences, a bar on every street! There are also a number of museums and Hookah bars to visit.

Diversity: The diversity of Portland is great in itself, but Portland State offers something else. The amount of different clubs with ethnicity, sexuality, religion, extracurricular interest, and everything else is as diverse as people themselves are. Freshman are mixed together in diverse floors, with international students being involved with all of the other students. There is something for everyone and everything is very inclusive, be it the Korean Thanksgiving for the campus or tango dancing for the whole school.

Off-Campus Dining: PSU is literally right downtown. There are so many great places to eat right around campus and all within walking distance or you can also take the MAX or the streetcar to get to other places nearby in 10-15 minutes.

Local Area: There are nice places in downtown Portland, but it's quite cold and often raining. However, the culture is very diverse and there is a lot of beautiful art in the area. OMSI is an experience in itself.

Guys & Girls: I love the people mostly, but too many are like hipsters in my opinion.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The people in the office are very knowledgeable and helpful and willing to take the time to explain everything to you. I wasn't eligible for financial aid my first term here because I enrolled as a quick enroll student, but the second term I did receive some aid. The people are great but the actual aid itself could definitely be better

Off-Campus Dining: Portland is known for its food quality. Pretty much anywhere you go it will be affordable and delicious.

3 College Junior

Academics: Our workload is heavy and often thought by newer professors. Our atmosphere being Portland is our greatest asset.

Academics: Over all I've been more challenged than I was in community college and have retained significant amounts of knowledge from professors here at PSU. Some of the departments are less organized than others, which docks a few letter grades for inconsistency.

Administration: One offense of smoking pot in the dorms can result in being kicked out of housing while still having to pay for the room for that year. Campus Public Safety has a large presence on campus.

Majors: Even though two of our best instructors left for another school I classes are very good. I think we are in the top 100 schools in the country. I like the fact that there is a graduate program for my field at PSU.

5 College Senior

Technology: Many computer labs. Plenty of computers.. Rarely need to wait. We get 500 pages a quarter included. I have never run out.

4 College Senior

Local Area: School is located downtown. Plenty of food places and hangouts for study. PSU athletics are strong and I enjoy watching our football team. I'm 45 back in school for the second time. The average age at PSU is around 35-38 so I don't feel out of place. I think it's a great place to go to school.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The workload at Portland State feels overwhelming at some times, but I look back and realize that I have learned an immense amount while at PSU.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It's constantly raining here, however we just suck it up and get our umbrella, rain jackets and boots out and just endure it. However, when its nice out its really nice out and most people will be outside enjoying the weather.

Off-Campus Dining: Being in downtown Portland you have an unlimited amount of food options, which fast food restaurants, sit down restaurants, food carts which are surprisingly delicious, also many cafes!

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Overall CPSO, which is campus public safety officers are in charge of all related drug safety which they are experts at. They can easily get rid of any drug related issue.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The only way to get you money's worth if you want to live anywhere near campus is to go in on a house with a bunch of friends, but living with 9 other people isn't for everyone.

Party Scene: It's really what you make of it. I, for one, don't really party much or drink.

Academics: Its pretty cool being a psychology major here at PSU. The different fields and classes are interesting and the work load is not that bad. The professors get you excited about the material that you and learning and they are always available to assist you if you ever should need help. There are also a lot of opportunities for internships.

Campus Food: Because PSU is dropped right in downtown there is a pleathera of options as far as dining. The food carts surrounding the school is mass amounts make up for the cafeteria food court that is located within the school, even though those options are terrible themselves.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Primarily women and men at PSU are not concerned about their appearance or dress but rather their intellect. As a result there is high acceptance of differntiating lifestyles and people who are "different", almost embracing and encouraging them. PSU students are typically well-versed in academics, readers, and well-rounded. Superficiality is not readily found among PSU students.
